We stayed a week in August 2013. Our room was clean and the king size bed was very comfortable. Room service did a nice job refreshing the linens and towels. The sofa and coffee table were old and uncomfortable but we were generally only in the room to sleep and shower. We also received the special rate of 52.00. Our TV remote stopped working and was promptly replaced with a working one. The continental breakfast was better than we have been offered at some other hotels. We did not use the pool or visit the restaurant since we do not enjoy Indian food. The employees were friendly and helpful and we would stay there again if we were in the area.

Room Tip: We had a corner room on the first floor #121 I believe. It was very quiet and large.

We stayed for 2 nights, mid-week, for a trip to Mystic village. They were offering a special rate of 52.00 per night. Sounds too good to be true? It had it's ups and downs, so I will start with the ups. The King size bed that we slept in was quite comfortable. It had a refrigerator and a microwave. They were able to accommodate my service dog and my disabilities by giving us a room on the first floor. The staff was friendly. The room was very quiet.

Now the bad. The breakfast was pretty bland. The eggs appeared to be powdered, and tasted like it. They had apples and oranges, toast, bagels, dry cereal, tiny yogurts, toaster waffles and French toast, coffee, milk and juice. It was enough to call it breakfast, but no frills.

The amenities that were advertised were really only partially there, I went down to the pool, and tried to hop in the hot tub, but alas, the hot tub was broken. Another customer told me that they were waiting for it to be fixed. I then asked for the sauna, and the staff told me that the one in the men's room was broken, but that the one in the ladies' room was operational. I didn't go in to find out. The Beauty Spa was closed when we were there. The menu at the restaurant onsite was strictly Indian food. I have to say that I did not try the restaurant, my stomach was not ready for spicy food.

Now the ugly! The room looked nice initially, especially with new carpet, but it was like putting lipstick on a pig. We stayed in room 113. The TV was an older model, and I am assuming that they use satellite TV, for the signal kept going out. The internet access in our room was too weak to make a stable connection. The room was a mixture of new stuff and old stuff. It was as if they took the old bathroom sink and stuck it in the room's entrance way. They took out the wall lights, and put little plates over them, which kept falling off the wall. There were dropped ceilings, which the supports in the bathroom were rusted. Most of the doors in the "renovated rooms" were cut down with a rip saw, and were rehung without any touchup. This cut down of the doors may have effected their fire rating per NFPA 80, and a good inspection should be done by the Groton Fire Department. The hinges were extremely rusty, and should been replaced when they rehung the doors. The bathroom was retiled, but they never caulked the top edge. By not caulking the edge, it would allow water to run down the wall and get behind, creating the perfect setting for mold and mildew to grow.

This place is in need of professional workmanship, not just the cheapest labor and parts you can find. It could be a real gem, and they could get better prices, if they got investors to invest real money in the place. It takes money to make money, as the saying goes. Also understand their market, I think they could do better business in the restaurant if they made the menu a little more standard fare. If you just want a cheap place to sleep, then this is the place.

Room Tip: The rooms on the first floor have been recently "renovated". Ask for the first floor

The room I was in had dirt on the wallpaper across from the air conditioner. Also, the toilet ran almost constantly. I lifted the lid to try to re-seat the flapper, and the inside of the tank (walls, lid) was black with mold. Disgusting.
