Both my wife and I are big time sushi eaters...we have eaten at over a dozen different NYC sushi places.

To quickly sum things up...KOTO was top notch! The sushi chefs are very inventive when it comes to making new rolls. We had a special roll they had called a "Geisha Roll” it blew us away. The quality of the other rolls was also very high 8+, cut and prepared very clean and tasted very fresh.

The Hibachi area was packed on both nights we visited...must be pretty good considering the crowd.

Highly recommended!

Best sushi in the area! A little pricey though but if you tip them good, you get what you pay for ;)

I drove from NYC to Boston with some friends and decided to take a scenic route back towards Mohegan Sun on the way back during the weekend. A friend had recommended we try Koto if we happen to be in the Groton area and luckily I had the place mapped out and ready.

Dropped in around 6pm and it wasnn't crowded...but within a span of 30 mins the place packed in full so that says something about the popularity of the place. We lucked out and took up a whole hibachi table with our group and on came the chef with his cart full of goodies and he greeted us warmly with a great big smile.

We ordered the works from steak to chicken, to lobster, and after the ordering round was over the fun began! Lots of clinking and clanging of cookware acrobatics and funny antics from the chef. I won't giveaway the best parts but involves things flying around.

Some of us ordered sushi on the side too (big eaters) and it was tasty and very fresh. Not NYC grade but surprisingly good for a small town (okay we may be snobs but hey we're New Yorkers). Finally the coup de grace with dessert of ice cream and off we went. Very satisfied and eager to hit the casinos before dark for an all nighter.

The decor and atmosphere is great, bring a group and enjoy their fully stocked bar as well. I'll be coming again next time to Boston, and that will be soon.
