Very clean, and very nice. The only problem is the pizza is not that good. Many of the sandwiches are good, as well as the pasta, and the cal zones. But, it's PIZZA Palace! Thepizza shoould be better.

Easy to find, with a nice clean shop. They do have tables, but their main joy is quick delivery of excellent pizza. We haven't tried anything special as pizza to us (here at the 65+ "home") are pretty set in our 80 year-old ways. Pizza to us is thin crust, tomato with cheese - then some like pepperoni, some sausage, some black olives, onions peppers, and one (me) likes anchovies.

Here, they'll put the anchovies on half of the pizza before cooking, which is great. Where I used to work, my fellow travel agents didn't want my anchovies ruining their share, so they made me add them later...cruel and unusual punishment, but I survived.

I ordered a genoa grinder and it was 2 slices of low grade salami on the whole grinder.

This review is a lie. A Genoa Grinder at Groton Pizza Palace contains a minimum of 5 slices of top-quality Genoa salami (small); 9 slices (large). All of our deli meats are top-quality. Either reviewer has confused Groton Pizza Palace with some other Pizza Palace or this is a malicious review to try to undermine our excellent reputation. Groton Pizza Palace has been owned and operated by the same family for 46 years. It is our only store. Accept no imitations.

Way back when,I used to spend summers as a child in a nearby community,Pizza Palace was-and still is-to me the gold standard in southeastern connecticut for pizza and grinders ( a new england term for hero sandwiches)

We started with a small mozzarella pizza, topped with extra mushrooms. Others in our party ordered a small egg salad grinder,a large roast beef grinder,a large cheese fries platter, two unsweetened ice teas and a diet coke.

Total cost with tax and tip was $27.

Be advised that Pizza Palace DOES NOT take either credit or debit cards-still cash only after all these years. They operate in a new building but still have the same address and phone number.

They are located at 944 poquonnock road -also known as US route 1- in Groton,Connecticut.

Phone number is [--].
