I stayed here for the year end with my wife. The hotel was very well kept. The staff was courteous. The in house restaurant Octagon was awesome (a must visit). The food was really good and the restaurant staff were very friendly and courteous too. We ended up going there more than a few times. The elite member food coupons also came handy :)

The Red Door spa was very decent with good amenities, though a little pricey. We were able to squeeze in a couple of sessions in our schedule. It was not mind blowing but not too bad either. I would go back there again.

The only reason I gave this hotel 4 instead of 5 stars is because I felt the rooms were a little small. But considering the fact that it was just me and my wife I think it ended up being just OK.

Rhode island is about 45 minutes from there so there are a few more options for places to visit. We ended up driving to RI for a seal cruise on one of the days.

All in all, I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Spent a long weekend at this hotel. Overall very nice hotel, courteous and professional staff and perfect location for Mystic fun as well as casino visits to both Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods (each about 15 minutes away)

The hotel also has a Red Door Spa which was very nice and luxurious.

A very nice starbucks located in the lobby as well as an upscale restaurant (Octagon) round out a very well packaged luxury stay.

Rooms are nicely appointed but remember this is a Marriott and not one of the higher end brands so althought luxurious, not nearly as nice as a Ritz, or JW brand location,

15 minute ride to either casino and 10 minutes to downtown mystic makes this the perfect place to stay for a long weekend with spa access.

Also very nice indoor pool and fitness center.

All and all, nice place to stay if visiting the area.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on 6th floor, this is concierge level and you have access to the lounge.

We have enjoyed several get-aways at the Marriott Mystic and love the high quality experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are always clean and well-maintained. We asked for a room with a view of the nearby reservoir and ended up with a lovely corner spot. The location is convenient to the highway and the many tourist destinations in the area. Mystic, Groton/New London, Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods are all 10-20 min. away (though nothing is walking distance). The impressive lobby has an inviting lounge area with a bar in the evening, and Starbuck's as well.

The Octagon Restaurant is also well done and has one of the best breakfasts around--whether ordering off the menu or taking advantage of the $15 buffet with omelettes (made handily by Larry) and just about everything else you could want. We also take advantage each visit of the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, located on the first floor. Though it can be crowded and the relaxation area too small, we have had high quality massages each time.

Room Tip: Views of the lake are nice, but be aware you can have a long walk from the elevators.

Nice standard newer Marriott hotel. Average gym, good food and excellent service. Easy access to highway. Was a cold snowy night and the smell of fresh starbucks gave it a welcoming feel. Concierge was standard.

I have only stayed in this hotel a few times, but go there often for functions, meals, retreats, etc., and there is none better. From the friendly greeting you get at the front door to perfectly cooked meals for 500 in the main ballroom to Roger - the best bartender in the region - Marriott General Manager Farouk Rajab has built a first-class team that not only practices service excellence, but lives it. Another veteran there, Ian, is Mr. Can-Do. We had a function there once and wanted a little something extra to make a good display a great one. It was an unusual request, but when I asked if that could happen, Ian's response: "We'll make it happen!" And he did - beautifully. Never, ever get tired of going to the Mystic Marriott.
