“Too warm at night”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

We stayed 3 nights and the front desk staff were very helpful. Room had only coffee for 1 person first 2 days, no refill toilet paper, but was clean and bed was very comfortable.

I like to sleep in a cool room and it was stuffy and hot and we couldn't turn on air conditioning. That made my sleep fitful.

At $14 a glass and so-so food, I wasn't impressed. French Onion soup was a thin broth and almost no onions, instead of the usual thick soup. Scallops were ok.

I really liked the big meeting area on the main floor for the wedding guests to gather or work on name tags and things.

Our reservation was lost even though It was made in December - we had a confirmation number to prove that we had booked a room. We were staying there for a wedding and they didn't even offer up a deal to the wedding guests - we reserved a block of rooms. We ended up paying more than $200 for one night! This hotel wasn't even that nice. There was no fridge in our room, room service kept waking us up the next morning, and there was no continental breakfast. For that amount of money, I was expecting to get some sort of food. I've heard they're going to put in a fruit infused water machine though (big whoop). I would never go back to this place, nor recommend it to anyone. You can find a better deal elsewhere. I don't want to see a response saying " we will review your feedback with our team as we continuously seek to improve" because you're obviously not doing that. Three out of the last four reviews of this hotel (before this one) have been negative. Take your business elsewhere or be prepared to shell out a lot of money for an uncomfortable bed, no breakfast, and a desk staff who loses reservations. Go to the Hilton or go to the Hyatt.

I would like to start this review by stating that the service at the front desk was nothing short of excellent. We arrived without a reservation on a Thursday night. The front desk attendant found us a room and was able to give us a break on the rate. Here's the thing. The listed rate for the room that evening was $179. Now, although we got a break on the price, the value and level of the service should be that of a full service hotel. The room was laid out well and the bed was well appointed. The bathroom had a stingy number of towels and an absence of hooks or bars to place the towels on. The media center on the TV was handy, you are able to easily connect your computer to the TV for streaming options.

The real downside of this hotel, however, was the room service. We ordered breakfast, both orders came to the room 15 minutes late and were wrong. The eggs were overcooked, the toast was burnt, and my finacee's croissant was a brick.

So, a good place to stay & sleep - but avoid the room service at all costs.

First off, they lost our reservation. It was made in December for a June wedding. There were no reduced rates for the guests, even though there was quite a large block of rooms booked for the event. We ended up paying $205 for a single night, and there was no fridge in the room, no continental breakfast...not even a complimentary water bottle. I had to pay $4 for the Fiji water in the room. Someone pulled the fire alarm at 9 a.m., which is no fault of the hotel's, but it made for an even less restful night than we already had. In all, way overpriced for what we got. Couldn't even get an order of fries from the bar when we arrived back from the wedding venue at midnight.

We are at the Mystic Marriott for a family get away. We cannot swim in the pool because there is a large teenage party there and the door to the parking lot is open for visitors that are not staying at the hotel. We stayed last night and the was no parking because of a local prom.
The beds are very uncomfortable. There are no discounts offered to local attractions, we were told at the front desk that the combo pack is a better deal and it isn't offered here.
I think that the reviews that have been posted are not accurate.

Spend a week every two month at Marriott Mystic, and saw the all thing going south. People have changed, not as clean, just not the old good experience I was used to.
Service at the bar and restaurant went from great to average...
Breakfast used to be fantastic, but not the case anymore...

Very nice hotel! We were part of a large wedding block of rooms and had amazing service. The accommodations are excellent and the staff handled a very full and busy weekend with grace. It's proximity to touristy things is fine if you know your way around. We would definitely stay there again.
