“Interesting”

It was interesting to see this historic fort. However, there were a line of port a potties located directly in the middle of the fort. That kind of ruined any photos one might want to take.

“Piece of history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2012

this place is pretty cool. the climb to the top of the obelisk is tiring, but worth the view. the fort is nice too. bring a date or your wife or hubby, and have a picnic. the museum is cool too! it has some belongings of George Washington too!

“Nice spot for a leg stretch and bit of history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2012

Found this place while geocaching and stayed for an hour. Wandered inside the fort, through the tunnel and into the trenches. Up to the museum for a bit, climbed the monument... and chatted with the rangers. It was a really nice way to spend part of the afternoon, and a nice view of the harbor.

“Historic Site”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2012

This was not a very exciting site to visit but was more of a park and was very peaceful. This would be a great place to go eat a picnic lunch after a visit to Submarine Museum

“A yearly event - Love it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2012

A wonderful walk through history. The fort was attacked by the British. Col Ledyard was killed by the British commander on the site. The kids love to run through the trenches (built to protect the soldiers from rifle and cannon fire. My wife loves the view of the harbor.
