“Excellent stay - all the way around!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2009

I am very impressed with everything at this location. The rooms themselves are large, the desks in the room are large and allow plenty of workspace, which is important to me. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are quiet. Everything is very clean. There is a nice business center which offers plenty of privacy. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. They also offer a nice breakfast in the morning. Everything that I look for when I'm traveling - I will definitely be back!

Booked two rooms for our extended family and the reservations and check-in was very professional, however the door keys were incorrectly "coded" and had to be redone. The landscaped exterior and public areas are all in natural stone and present as a "4-star" quality hotel. Lobby has a nice sitting area with a gas fireplace, however staff was unable to get it to work after repeated tries. A small two-seat "business office" is located off the lobby for printing airline boarding passes or last minute FAXing. There is also a small "pantry" offering back-up shaving supplies, tampons, and snacks. Indoor pool looked clean (did not use this trip) but the exercise area was very small with only a couple machines. We chose to just do an extended walk down the street where there is a WalMart and small strip-plaza. Area appears to be safe for evening walks.

The lobby also has a small restaurant with a tiny bar open for breakfast and dinner. This can be hit and miss--one night the bartender was great and the drinks were perfect then next night a new man must have been on because the drinks were poorly made. The one dinner we had was very good but the next morning the breakfast was sub-par: slow service and just average (at best) food. We went across the street to a local dinner for a bigger breakfast at half the cost. There is a small outdoor patio which was nice for an evening drink, however the "bar" closes at 10:00 PM.

Rooms are "up-scale" and justify the expensive room rates. Counter tops trimmed in black granite and a HD flat screen TV monitor add a touch of class. Rooms also have a microwave, and dorm-size refrigerator in addition to the usual coffee maker, iron, and high speed wireless internet. Staff was very helpful and maid service for the two rooms was excellent.

This facility maybe one of the most expensive in the area but as the old saying goes: "you get what you pay for."

The facility is removed from the highway and very quiet. Beds were nice and hard -- extremely comfortable. Kind of a mixed experience at breakfast; omelet chef took 15 minutes to make 1 omelet, and then it was undercooked! But waitress comped us on breakfast and was quite apologetic. Front desk staff was very helpful from check-in on. A very good stay, all in all.

I traveled to Groton with a few colleagues for work, and we had made reservations at the Hilton Garden Inn. I was very please I had chosen this hotel as it seemed brand new and much nicer than other hotels along the same strip. I don't think it cost too much more than other places, but if it did, it was worth it.
The lobby space was fresh and welcoming, and checking in went smoothly AND they had fresh cookies for us! We went to our rooms, which were nice and new, nice-looking furniture, really comfortable beds and comfortable bedding, a flat screen tv, internet access, and lovely clean bathrooms. You could tell this hotel was new, as the decoration style as more current compared to other places I've stayed.
We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very very nice!
I assumed a breakfast was included and helped myself to a muffin and glass of juice one morning, and then asked for my "something" card - which I didn't have - I was very embarrassed, but the staff were understanding.
I used their business center for printing which worked very smoothly.
There was a pool at the hotel, but I didn't have the opportunity to use it.
The only complaint I had was that my room was at the end of a hall next to a stairwell, or an elevator, or ice machine, or AC unit or something, that made inconsistent noises all night long. I had a hard time sleeping because of it, but I think it would probably be an isolated problem to that one room.

From start to finish we had a wonderful experiance here! At check in the staff was very friendly and helpful. As soon as we got into our room the head of housekeeping stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. The pool and hot tub were very clean. The beds were awesome! When we were hungry and the restaurant wasn't open yet a member of the staff tracked down the chef and had him prepare us lunch anyway. This was by far the best experiance I have ever had at a hotel and I do a lot of traveling!!!

This hotel seemed very new and conveniently located off I-95 but close to Groton Submarine Force Museum and also to Mystic and its attractions. Pool and hot tub were very nice, and breakfast was plentiful. Friendly staff.

A new Hilton Garden Hotel located very conveniently off of Route 95. Very close to the Navy base and the submarine museum. While not immediately apparent, there are restaurants and stores nearby. Staff was friendly and lobby was most pleasant. Room was very user friendly with nice work area. Only downside was room did pick-up a bit of noise from hallway and other rooms. This is an excellent stop when coming through southern Connecticut.
