Great place to stay..Clean, quiet, comfortable.... Great friendly staff!! We checked in late and Michelle in the front desk was wonderful.... The breakfast was very good and the woman in charge of the breakfast area was very helpful and kept everything clean and neat. A great weekend I would return again!!! Close to the casinos.....

Very nice room. The location is about 15-20 minutes away from the casino. We had the Grand Master Suite which included a whirl pool tub and a gas fireplace. The room was very spacious and simple. The bed was some what comfortable. I mean this is not a luxury hotel but it is a great value for the price. The staff was very pleasant. There was a continental breakfast in the morning but it was nothing special.

We recently stayed at the Americinn this past weekend and our stay couldn't have been more different then Traveler1427's in early January. I think she might have stayed at an entirely different hotel! The inside of the lobby is really nice. The huge stone fireplace is so inviting! It's like you stepped into a ski lodge.

Anyway, all the staff we ran into from the front desk, to the cleaning lady, to Luther our van driver to Mohegan were all extremely friendly! They are a more seasoned hotel staff not a bunch of young kids with attitudes. So I find it hard to believe someone had any trouble with anyone at this hotel. The check in process was a breeze, show an ID, credit card, sign the form and get your keys. They lady who checked us in gave us information on their breakfast time, the pool hours and the hotel gym. She also informed us of their shuttle schedules to the casinos and that we had to reserve spots. This totally makes sense given the fact the shuttle holds 14 people and you don't want people disappointed when no seats are available. We booked our shuttles spots and headed up to our suite.

We had a grand master suite which is a very large room with a sitting area and a separate bathroom / vanity area in the front entry. The vanity area is a nice size with a clothes closet and also a mini fridge (bring your beers and sodas!), microwave and coffee pot. The décor is not exactly my taste but the room was clean and well kept. The king size bed was fairly comfortable but the squishy pillows were not our favorite. I suggest bringing your own if you really like a supportive pillow for sleeping. The gas fireplace and the 2 person jacuzzi added a very romantic touch to the room. Let me just say although it's advertised as a 2 person jacuzzi, it might be a little cozy for some taller people so just keep that in mind. It was nice to soak in the bubbles before and after our casino adventures! The jacuzzi would use a little updating as most of the caulking around the tub was cracked, sunken or missing. The bathroom shower and sinks were also fine, clean as a whistle and worked properly. The tv's are standard box sets not flat screens but we honestly didn't even really use it much, just for a little background noise before bed. We didn't get to use the pool or gym but the pool area looked really nice.

This hotel is a nice location right off 395. We could not hear any highway noise at all and since the hotel is built with sound proofing we actually couldn't really hear anyone around us (no loud neighbors or banging doors! Woo hoo!). We actually slept so well we didn't wake up until 10am and missed the free breakfast. The hotel is about a 20 minute shuttle ride to Mohegan Sun and was definitely tolerable. The shuttle reservations were fine. Luther left the hotel promptly at our scheduled 6pm time and when we decided to change our 2am reservation to the 12:15, it wasn't a problem. Luther arrived back at the casino at 12:10am and we hopped into the shuttle which he had all nice and warm for us. (Please remember to tip your shuttle drivers! No one besides us did on our trips back and forth and they really do deserve a tip!) We have stayed at places closer to Mohegan but decided to give this place a shot this time. Given some of the low rates and the increased room availability at this hotel, it's a great option to consider when visiting Mohegan or Foxwoods. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Shuttle service requires advanced reservations, but they failed to tell us this when we actually made the reservations. Instead of apologizing for the confusion the staff was extremely confrontational and rude, especially the manager Tyler Knutson. Because we did not have advanced reservations for the shuttle TO the casinos we had to take a $50 cab. The hotel is really far from Mohegan Sun! We were, however, promised a ride BACK on the shuttle from the casino to the hotel. The shuttle back conveniently broke down and when we called to inquire where it was we were spoken down to in a condescending tone by the concierge who then told us it was not his problem. They left 50 guests stuck at the casinos with no rides back on New Years Eve. Cabs were busy and hotel guests were left for 3.5 plus hours at the casino until all hours of the night and morning without so much as an apology or a discount. When we finally got a cab home, the cab driver told us that THE SHUTTLES "BREAK DOWN" ALL OF THE TIME! DO NOT STAY HERE! IT'S HORRIBLE! THE STAFF ARE RUDE, MEAN AND DISGUSTING!

For not being a big chain hotel this place is trying very hard to be as good as the big boys and you benifit by saving an avg of $50.00 less than other hotels in area. Was very surprised at how clean the overall apperance of the entire hotel was. Staff was very friendly also. I would definitley stay here again. Very Clean place.

We checked into the Americinn Griswold late in the evening after a long flight and drive, and so were sensitive to any flaws or disappointments. Thankfully the hotel provides a warm welcome, with cookies at the check in desk and a mix of classy homeliness. It's certainly a high grade above a motel, and provides very comfortable spacious rooms at a bargain rate.
The location is very convenient for travellers needing a stop between New York and northern cities, just off the freeway, and is gloriously peaceful and in a beautiful quiet leafy road.

Breakfast is great. Don't be mislead by the continental breakfast description, there is far more than just cereal on offer. We came down to cereals, donuts, muffins, pastries, bagels juices, fresh fruits, a range of coffees and a waffle making station. More than we could eat and all delicious.

Overall a bargain hotel that provides everything you could want at just a touch above the standard class.

We stayed here for one night before starting one of the recommended scenic routes in New England (Route 169). The hotel was only a couple of miles from the recommended start point in Lisbon. We hadn't stayed in this chain of hotels before so weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised to find a very spacious and comfortable room with nice modern decor. One of the nicest chain hotels we've stayed in! A continental breakfast was included - bagels, waffles, muffins etc - which was pretty good. I would definitely stay with Americinn again.
