In the rare event you find yourself with kids at sleep-away camp, dreaming of an opportunity to re-connect with your french food-loving husband, this is without a doubt a true gem. Beautiful room, lovely staff, champagne in wicker chairs on the wrap-around porch and one of the most creative, exquisite meals ever--oysters, duck, and so much more. Wonderful wine list. And best? The ability to walk outside just a short distance to your wonderfully decorated room....we'll be back!

Impressive attention to detail and superlative service were the hallmarks of my stay at the Homestead Inn in Greenwich. Everyone from the bartender to the hotel manager exceeded my expectations for graciousness and hospitality. The grounds provided a serene respite from the city and are perfect for doing focused work or simply relaxing. My room transported me to a bygone era's elegance with the added comforts of modern amenities like the rainfall shower experience and decadent toiletries. Enchanting and eclectic is the sophisticated decor adorning this charming hotel; each room offers an aesthetic treat for guests. The pinnacle of my stay was an unforgettable dinner at Thomas Henkelmann's on-site restaurant. This adventure in French cuisine delighted my senses - every course was better than the last. I joyfully anticipate my next stay Homestead Inn! Until next time...

Zagat has rated this establishment as #1 in the area for several years now. Has been around for a long time and while it is pricey, the food and service is unparalleled at any sit down for a 3-hour meal place I've been too. Good for very special occasions; anniversaries, weddings (my parents were married here), and other events. Would recommend for great food but be willing to be seated for awhile

Arriving at the inn, late at night, the night manager kept peering out of the window between the slats of the shades. It was spooky and strange. That was the first issue. Then the moment you walk into this hotel the pungent rotting smell of unsanitary conditions is overpowering. My mother who is 65 immediately whispered to me that she couldn't stay in those conditions. Speaking with the night manager who only spoke broken English or perhaps he was drunk that night, was a nightmare in itself and required me to repeat everything 3-4 times including spelling out the name several times. Quickly told him that we needed to cancel and left. The next day spoke with the owner, Theresa Henkelmann, who said that she did not have a problem refunding the deposit but that she didn't know how to do it and would have her manager call me the next day. The next day, received no call back. Called again and spoke with the manager, Renata, who was a completely horrid person and refused to the process the refund and then in spite said she was now charging the full rate for a no show. It's really unbelievable the lengths that some businesses will go to in order to abuse a customer and even outright lie. Please avoid this place like the plague.

We were there just for lunch, so we cannot comment on the rooms. Very nice food and ambiance. Great service. Friendly owner. The place is very well kept but the decoration is not the best, at least for our taste.
