We booked the Delamar after checking the Trip Advisor web site. We were delighted with the five star service and quality of the hotel.
The location is great, you can get a train to New York within 45 minutes.
The shopping and restaurants in Greenwich are very good

My wife & I stayed there on a weekend in August for two nights. We had a cheaper room overlooking the parking lot. It is a 4 star hotel and quite luxurious although the restaurant could do with refurbishing. We had a package which included a breakfast for 2 @ $36 per day, tickets to the Bruce Museum, wine & cheese in the library every night (5:30-6:30), a 20 minuite message for two, and a 30 minute ride on a 42 foot yacht. The room & bathroom were quite luxurious with three telephones. Supper in the restaurant was very good also. The staff were pleasant and courteous. All in all a great stay!

This hotel is fine for business but not a holiday and it doesn't seem to have learnt anything from the criticism of service from reviewers. There's no general waiter service in the hotel unless you're prepared to pay room service rates (something that isn't properly explained to you at the time). If you're in a cheaper room, you may be overlooking the car park and the hotel just doesn't have a "luxury" feel to it. Forget trying to organise fishing through the hotel. In fact very few boats operate out of Greenwich - you'll have to go further along the coast. Didn't rate the restaurant and bar. Not a "destination" hotel in our view.

Although I spent just one night at this incredible hotel I can truly recommend spending the money to experience this top notch property.

From the minute we arrived to the time we departed we were treated like royalty. The desk staff was helpful and courteous. The room was elegant with everything a traveler could need and more. When we opened the door to the room we were greeted by soft music, lights on and chocolates on the bed.

Even the hallways in the lovely property were beautifully decorated.

The only downside was the cost of coffee from room service.

My husband planned our first wedding anniversay that The Delamar Harbor Hotel. It was a picture perfect stay- a second honeymoon for us.

The staff was so friendly and wanted to make it a special stay for us- which they absolutely did. Upon checking in we were greeted with "Happy 1st Anniversary".

This hotel has some really special touches that make it unique- on our floor there was a coffee bar set up (with coffee, teas, cappuccinos, expresso, etc) along with fruits, pastries, yogurts, etc). In addition at 5 PM there was a lovely wine and cheese (delicious). Not only that but we woke up to a lovely continental breakfast.

For those of you who like to be active, The Delamar has bikes and helmets so we enjoyed a fun bike ride to the town where we ate a delicious lunch. Also they offer a fun boat tour which we took.

I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great getaway where you are sure to be treated well.

To start I can not say enough about this hotel. My wife and I decided to stay the weekend for our wedding anniversary. We did not want to travel far being a Holiday Weekend (4th July) but wanted to do something special. Staying at the Delamar was THE best decision we made.

We arrived and the hotel is beautiful inside and outside, located on the water. Its less than 1 hour from NYC so we made it in a flash and you can easily take the train as its next to the hotel. There as a large parking lot with the hotel so easy to park. Immediately after saying a warm hello at the front desk, the staff offered us bottled water and a personal escort to the room. I travel a lot and never have seen this type of service. The floor itself had a wonderful refreshment bar where you could have coffee/tea/water and light snacks at anytime. This was a great little thing to have on the floor!

The room was beautiful with every little detail thought of. We faced the water and had a balcony that was fantastic. The manager came to our room shortly after we checked in, made sure we were ok and also offered to make reservations at the restaurant in the hotel. We felt like getting out so she offered hotel bikes to roam around, or the hotel car to drop us off on Greenwich street to do some shopping and eat at restaurants there. Its 5 min walk away and its a great little way to spend an afternoon.

A wonderful addition is every evening they have complimentary wine and cheese in the hotel as well. The wine was very good and again all items were top notch, not cheap in any way. Another nice feature is the hotel has a daily boat tour of the area at no cost. We thoroughly enjoyed this 1 hour boat trip around and got to see Greenwich from a different perspective. If you like beaches, there is a shuttle boat next to the hotel that goes to these fantastic little islands where there is a beach and trees and some concessions. Another great little thing to do.

We further ventured to the spa and again had a wonderful treatment. A great treat if you are in the mood and the staff there is wonderful!

All in all, I cant recommend this hotel enough. The entire hotel staff is amazing to talk to and is truly concerned about you and your needs. Its a great getaway for a weekend and I would highly recommend to any couples that looking for a quick paradise outside new york or anywhere else. I will be back again and again with a hotel and staff like this!

I can't fault this hotel. We left a very rainy New York to spend our final night here. It's not that inspiring from the outside but the location is very nice on the harbour and a short walk to the myriad of shops and restaurants in Greenwich.

Very good staff, lovely room (they upgraded us from top floor town view to top floor harbour view), excellent common areas.

The best thing was that there was a 2 hour power cut about 5pm (not the hotel's fault) so they gave us a torch and a lightstick and we sat in the lobby with a glass of wine and some cheese (it was wine & cheese hour which was perfect timing) and we watched people coming and going from a six-year-old's party, which was not audible from our room.

Would go back in an instant. Highly recommended.
