I was back again after six months. The service is still excellent. The front desk is extremely accomodating. There is a complimentary glass of champagne when you check in which is a great start . Sedek, who oversees almost everything, is really on top of everything and regularly interacts with the guests. The front door staff is particularly attentive. There is a latte , coffee machine in the sitting room off the larger lobby which is often overlooked , but is great for a cofffee on the go. As for rooms,the ones facing toward the sea are obviously more pleasant , but all the standard rooms are otherwise similar and elegantly furnished. The suites are particulrly nice and make longer stays a real pleasure. There is an easy to use concierge bar on the fourth floor with very nice attendants at breakfast and after work. The centrally located computer and printer station makes printing out boarding passes a snap! I really like it!

Room Tip: If you can, try a suite.

My wife and I wanted a getaway, needed a getaway, and we were not let down by the Delamar. The staff was well trained, almost rehearsed and truly aimed to please. By taking the time to make sure we received all we needed, they made our stay relaxing and romantic.
A perfect getaway.

When I drove up and saw the place, I expected a mediumly marina hotel with a mixed bag of guests. Instead, I was charmed throughout, especially by the room itself and the restaurant, which was truly excellent. The seafood, the wines, the decor, everything is truly special inside this great getaway, despite a somewhat unimpressive exterior.

The stupidity begins when you are greeted by a big sign reading "de la Mar". Of course, that's not french, which would be "de la mer"; not spanish, which would be "del mar", not italian, which would be "de la mare". if you google it, you find there is a ghost town in Nevada called Delamar, and this place should be a ghost town too, given its non-existent hospitality. This property offers Holiday Inn service at Ritz prices. The under trained staff are unhelpful and rude. If you enjoy being given types of beds you didn't order, food you didn't order, a room phone with the antenna ripped off of the top, poorly functioning showers, and a view of a wall advertised as a "city view", don't go to Motel 6, just pay ten times more and book your stay at the Delamar.

We reserved two Harbor View Suites for Saturday and Sunday this weekend. I called the hotel on Friday to see if we could, instead of staying over Saturday night, get a 5pm check-out on Saturday so that we could get ready for the wedding we were attending that evening. After getting disconnected twice, I finally spoke to someone who informed me that a 5pm check out would be a half day rate. I agreed to this and asked to be transferred to the spa to make a pedicure reservation for 2:30. We arrived to find that the rooms we reserved were not available for a late check out. We were moved to one tiny room with two double beds (for the same price) and a view of the parking lot. The curtains were torn at the top, there were un-patched screw holes along the wall. The air conditioning was rattling. It was a tired, very small room. When the woman at the front desk called to see if everything was ok, I told her the room was not what we had expected and certainly not for the same rate as the deluxe Harbor View room. She told me she was sorry about the size and condition of the room, but that she was glad I had saved some money. Minutes later the manager called and said he was sorry about the room, that he would reduce the rate to $300 from $400 and that we would not be charged the half day rate for the late check out. In addition to the check in/room issues, every button we pushed on the telephone connected us to the same person instead of the valet parking, the spa or room service. She would then transfer the call to the intended destination, it would ring ten times and bounce back to her. We resorted in the end to having her pass a message to the valet and walking over to the spa ourselves. All in all, we we were very disappointed. For New York prices we got a dumpy, small room and poor service.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit. Our goal is to exceed our guests expectations and I apologize that we fell short. Our staff did try extremely hard to accommodate your last minute change of plans and as I'm sure you can imagine, a 5pm checkout request with a sold out hotel involves some juggling so as not to impact the arriving guests. I was also glad to hear the manager reduced your rate and waived the late check out fee as a good will gesture for your unsatisfactory room. As a side note, I am pleased to inform you we are in the process of completely renovating all guest rooms in the hotel including replacement of curtains, carpets, furniture and soft furnishings. I genuinely believe your experience is not typical of one's stay at the Delamar and I would welcome the opportunity to have you visit the property again.

We did a weekend getaway to The Delamar - and if I could go there every weekend I would! The staff were top-notch, professional, gracious and extremely welcoming. The rooms are beautifully done- just the right combination of elegance and comfort. The library i nthe lobby is perfectly stocked with the best in reading materials, plus complimentary coffee, tea, lattes, etc.

The staff graciously shuttled you to Greenwich Avenue - and made sure you were promptly picked up when requested.

I swear this must be a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton in disguise. Highly recommend the Delamar.

Room Tip: Make sure to request a room with a view of the water.

We had the opportunity to stay here as a result of our daughter's wedding at L'escale. It was the most welcoming place after the long day and evening celebrating. The rooms are so beautifully appointed and immaculate, with every amenity you could want. We ordered coffee in the morning and it arrived within minutes -- a most welcome treat. We ordered dinner in and enjoyed the most fabulous meal overlooking the harbor. The attentiveness of the staff was very much appreciated. We felt welcomed and nutured. Can't wait to return.....maybe for a spa experience next time.
