i had never heard of AJs and was reluctant to go but decided to eat there after reading the reviews on trip advisor. After biking 27 miles we were definitely ready for a good meal and we were not dissapointed. There were 6 or so beers on tap and we had several pitchers. The salads are excellent and very large. I had the fish and chips special which was very good. The inside was rustic tavern like and comfortable. The portions are large and very affordable. I will be back soon.

There are two wineries in Goshen, one package store, two restaurants, and two banks. No gas stations or traffic lights, and the other restaurant is only for breakfast and lunch. AJ's is for meeting friends and family dining. The menu includes steaks, pizza (of course), burgers, wings, sandwiches, and salads, with all portions more than adequate and prices that are very reasonable. Full bar and lots of beers on tap. Wednesday dinner is seafood night, and Thursday evening boasts a prime rib dinner with soup or salad for only $9.99. There is barrel with an unending supply of peanuts in the shell, and patrons are encouraged to serve themselves and toss the shells on the floor. Best of all is the waitstaff and bartenders, all of whom are friendly and work efficiently. No credit cards accepted, though. There is an ATM on site and another at one of the bank next door.

The trick about this place is to drive around the back of a white building and look for the door going into the basement. My first time here was bewildering as the locals know exactly how to get in but a newbie can drive away wondering what the secret is! The restaurant is noisy and slightly stuffy (i saw one room air conditioner trying hard to lower the temperature) however the food is really good. I had an open steak sandwich with caramelized unions and peppers with a huge side of core slaw. There is a wide choice of menu items and the atmosphere is happy with lots of chatter. We had good service and dinner for two came to less than $40. Will definitely go back!

Comfy, unpretentious place with great food. The meatball parm, salads, and kids' toasted cheese were wonderful.

AJ's is the local down and dirty in Goshen with a bar in front popular with bikers. But AJ's is also great for families too. Help yourself to peanuts and toss the shells on the floor. The menu offers mostly steaks and burgers which are excellent, but the Caesar salad is delicious too. The drinks are large and reasonably priced and there are daily specials.

AJ's deals only in cash - no credit cards accepted, but there is an ATM in the corner. Large screens show sports events.
