Fancy in a retro sort of way. Love the hot fudge sundae with caramelized bananas and salted almonds.

I went to this restaurant because of the rave reviews and I can say I was dissappointed. For the money and status that this place brings in, I would think that the food would be great and the service impeccable. My waiter was attentive yet seemed to have better places to be at. The food was ok. Not bad but not to the standards of fine dining. Overall I will not return and maybe find a more humble restaurant which focuses on great food rather than popularity.

This is a high end restaurant in Glastonbury...its very pricey and portions are not very big....The dishes are not very tasty...to me it just seems very over priced....I have tried a few of the dishes now and not very impressed.
I'd rather go to Max Amore right next door.

Really wanted it to be better - but the Baltimore Shrimp Coctail was amazing

Very loud restaurant, just like their other fish restaurant in West Hartford, CT (Max Oyster Bar), so if you are looking for a quiet romantic setting, I would look to dine at their other restaurant (Max Downtown in Hartford, CT). Service was good, food was good. Nothing that stands out at you, but a good quality restaurant. They claim that their fish is hand picked when it comes off the boats (what a job huh?...just stand and wait for the fishing boats to dock all year long...must be long hours). This time I had there Tuna dish, good but not a flavorfull dish, what I mean by that is it was a Tuna steak cut into four pieces with rice and hericot verts (string beans), no real flavor combination. Nothing that made your mouth tingle that a restaurant of that stature should be creating. That's it!...what I am trying to say is there was no creation of flavors coming at you as you ate it. We also had the sea scallops, which were very flavorfull on there own account. I would return to try there other dishes.
