“Average Food & Average Service”
Reviewed April 25, 2014 via mobile

Came here on a Friday night and despite the pretty heavy crowd, we were seated in 10 minutes.

The food was pretty average. We enjoyed the Thai Popcorn Chicken which had a good peanut flavor and just the right amount of spice (although I would agree with the other reviewer that they weren't popcorn sized but more golf ball sized.

We were less thrilled with the entrees. I tried the Short Rib Ragu which was more liquid-y than I would expect in a ragu but the flavors were there but the pasta was undercooked.

The service / timing of the food needs serious improvement. We were still looking at the drink menus when the waitress came and when we said we needed a minute, she took about 10 to return. Then, after about a 15-20 minute wait, our appetizer showed up followed up by our entrees about 3 minutes later while we were still eating.

The waitress recognized what happened (seems to be a recurring problem) and apologized which was nice but still meant that our food was getting cold while we tried to eat our appetizer first.

Not sure I would go back until they get a lot more settled into their routine.

Thank Matthew K

“More than just beer.”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

While an extensive craft beer selection is Local's main reputation there is also a great feeling and energy to the place. Food is better than average. Try the delicious lobster mash potatoes. Because beer is the big calling card you'd expect a younger crowd but at dinnertime it's families, couples and oldsters.

“Great Beer Selection but that's about it”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

Came here on the recommendation of some YELP reviews. The beer and service are top notch but the food is questionable.

Had their signature "Crispy Brussel Sprouts" and they were greasy.
"Thai Popcorn Chicken" were more like chicken fingers than popcorn.

Mac and cheese was good.
Spiced Popcorn was good (free)

We would not return here again unless we just wanted a beer.
