We have taken other dinner trains but this experience ranked on top. The dinner cars were nicely appointed and everything was clean. The restroom was authentic too. The tables were not crammed in allowing space to move your chair around a have a nice conversation with you dinner companions. The staff was excellent. Everyone had their assigned tasks and they did them with compassion for the diners and their total expeience. The dinner was excellent from start to finish. The train ride was smooth and the I loved the music that played to add to the whole sensory experience. The night we went the cars were filled with adults from 25-65, couples, frineds and partners. The setting was more formal but everyone was dressed in an array of attire from summer casual to more dinner dressy. Can't say enough about what a wonderful night out this was and look forward to returning.

the staff was very excellent the tour guide charlie was great but it was so hard to hear him it.was a 90 degree day so my pants had smoke coming out of them just as much as the train did.u can sit up front and smell the fumes or roast your underwear off.more towards the back. most of the time u only looked at woods and run down towns.when we got to the river it was very pretty and we could see the gilette castle in the distance. if you have kids im sure they would enjoy it.we did not

The train ride was short, mostly though local backyards. Riverboat ride was longer and more scenic, and included a narration of local history. Unless you're a real train lover, it seems like an overpriced tourist attraction.

Took a ride on the train this weekend. The train itself is quite handsome. The wood interior is beautiful. Rode in the standard car which was perfect. The open car gets sooty and the parlor car didn't seem to be worth the extra money.

Not a lot to see until you get to the river but it was a warm day and the train stays mostly under shaded trees so the cool breeze was great. Also took the river boat cruise. Again, not a lot to see except Gillette Castle and Goodspeed Opera House but the refreshing breeze was great. Glad I gave it a try. If you add on the river boat it's about 2 1/2 hours total.
