“A surprise hidden treasure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

Their food is excellent ! Their service and attention to their customers is also excellent ! It's the kind of place that seems to really care about how their food tastes to you. It is so very good. It may not look very elaborate from the outside, but don't make the mistake of passing it by. Stop and eat, you will not be sorry ! They serve everything, but specialize in Polish food. It is absolutely delicious ! Will definitely be visiting again !!

“A Hidden Gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

The Country Deli is right off RT 5 on Alden St, and tucked away in a residential area. Take the time to seek it out and you won't be disappointed. I cooked Polish food for decades but now that I have tasted nearly all of their food selections, I leave the cooking to them. The pierogi varieties offered are plentiful and very reasonably priced. Their golumpki rival my own. Claudia always delivers service with a super pleasant demeanor and efficiently fills your order. Don't miss out on this fantastic Polish food from The Country Deli!!

“Excellent service, excellent food - incomparable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

I wandered my way in here one day and was so pleasantly surprised. There is no rival to the quality and service that is offered at this place. The hall spaces are well maintained and absolutely beautiful; and that's just the first plus for this particular family owned business. You walk in; you are family. You are greeted with smiles every time! The food is incomparable. Whether it is dinner or dessert. I've had the pierogis (every flavor imaginable) and galumpki most recently but my favorite remains their homemade babka :)! I cannot recommend this sweet little place enough! You'd be foolish not to visit!

“A Must Try!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

It starts with the friendly, helpful young woman who greets you.
I purchased a coupon to try this place on Living Social.
I was skeptical;but was won over.
The food,(Pierogi's,Galumpki's,and the Kielbasa soup were the best I have ever had!!
Went back the next day with my girlfriend. She loved it too.I bought food to go as well.
Don't be deceived by the looks of the place. It's all about the food;fresh and delicious.
I wish this place was closer to where I live.

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

We visited the Old Country Deli on a recent trip to CT. It's a small, hole-in-the-wall place - nothing fancy to look at. But man is the food terrific! They advertise 20 some-odd varieties of home made pierogies & they had about a dozen different types on-hand when we visited. I got an order of 4 cheese pierogis & was delighted to find that they were made the old fashiopned way - with farmer's cheese. Most pierogis are made cheaply with regular cheese - but the real stuff should be made with farmer's cheese & these were. The deli boasts savory & dessert pierogis (blueberry, strawberry, sweet cheese - corned beef, cabbage, potato, spinach). My hubby ordered a polish plate for the rediculously low price of $6.99 which included golubki, pierogi, kielbasa, cabbage & rye bread. We both received an enormous amount of food for about $14 total. If you're puttering around Springfield, MA / CT area, it's well worth exploring the area to uncover this gem of an old-world place. They also ship pierogis nation-wide.
