I was pleased with the service and the food. They give you a big portion of spaghetti and I had enough to take home. Great menu selection and the food was delicious. Give it a try.

They have a great outside patio for dining in the summer. There menu has many options and the portions are large. Good food and service. Will definitely return.

Golden Irene's is hidden off of RT-140 in a residential neighborhood, but I always make the effort to come here often. The menu has a whole Greek section, and a lot of the entrees throughout are creatively designed. The prices can be a little high, especially for the tapas part of the menu. There's a hopping bar attached to it, but I've never spent time there. If I have to take guests out to eat, Golden Irene's is always a top choice--good variety of food and a slightly upscale ambiance. Don't feel you have to dress up, but you could do a date night here and not look out of place. They are committed to growing a lot of their produce on their family farm, and the servers and George are all very nice.

Positives: I love their pizza--I think they make one of the best red pizzas around. The roast beef grinders are a must--ask if they have it, it might not be on the dinner menu.

The only negative is that sometimes they run out of entrees and you have to be ready with a backup choice. Also, the music is terrible--porn-y jazz. Enjoy!

My family and I just returned from Golden Irene's in East Windsor. We had eaten there about 12 years ago and the food was okay, but we often overlooked this restaurant in favor of eating establishments that were closer by. Today we decided to use a coupon, and we were VERY impressed with the service, the atmosphere, and most of all, the food. The beer on tap selection was terrific, I enjoyed two Sam Adams Summer ales, my husband enjoyed two Berkshire Brewery Shabadoos (black and tan ale). Our meals came with a choice of soup or salad, and we chose the homemade vegetable soup. What a treat -- chock full of vegetables from their garden and full of rich broth and plenty of lentils. The little loaf of homemade bread came with a saucer of fruity olive oil with red pepper flakes and fresh garlic. One child chose the All American burger, which was HUGE, and arrived with an ample amount of delicious golden fries. The other child enjoyed a huge (make that HUGE) bowl of fettuccini alfredo with broccoli and steak. My extremely picky husband enjoyed his favorite dish, chicken parmesan, and said it was excellent. I had something called volous stiffato - not sure of spelling or pronunciation, but I can tell you this -- it was incredible. It consists of pork, beef, and bulgur meatballs served in a sweet red sauce with carmelized onions over garlic mashed potatoes. I can honestly say I can't remember the last time I had something that tasted so delicous and so hearty. Everything is made from scratch, there are no short cuts taken here with the food. The restaurant itself is cheerful, clean, and updated. Our waitress was very nice, seemed to actually enjoy our kids, and was very efficient, checking in on us at just the right time. So, here I sit, trying to think when, exactly, would it be too early to break into the leftovers I just put in my fridge? We will definitely be heading back, coupon or no coupon!!
