“A little below average but ok for the purpose...”
Reviewed October 21, 2012 via mobile

So, I must admit that I booked this hotel through Priceline....has I read the review prior, then I would not have stayed. I actually tried to figure out how I could get out of the stay once I read the review and was prepared to suck up the lost cash and just find another place of it was that bad. Well, I guess since I expected the worst, it wasn't so bad. Here for college visits, I basically needed a cheap place for a few nights. The building needs a lot of remodeling and appears to only operate at about 40-50% occupancy...my guess. The workout area is joke...looked very outdated and a hazard but lucky for me, there was a LA Fitness 5 miles away.

Based on the upkeep of the common areas of the hotel, I didn't dare to get in the pool. The room was fine...very basic but I didn't have the issue with mold or damaged wall. The furniture, tv and bathroom could use updating but overall, it was ok. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Here's the big question....would I stay here again....yes, if it was for the same purpose and price then I would.

Oh...it's right off the freeway too and across from a Mexican restaurant.

Skip the breakfast unless you just want juice and coffee.

1) Hotel had several hundred middle-school athletes in town for weekend soccer tounament. They were not under control of their coaches or chaperones. They were running the halls trying their room key-cards in every door. Apparently when the wrong key-card is tried in a door lock, it doesn't just not unlock the door, it also resets the door code so that a legitimate key-card is no longer accepted. Means the legitimate guest must return to the lobby to get the key-card re-coded. Oh, and don't leave the door unattended on your trip to the lobby, they can reset the lock before you ket back from the lobby.
2) The toilet tank leaked. Every few minutes, the toilet tank would noisily have to partially refill.
3) The bathroom sink would NOT drain. Drain stopper was missing, indicataing that an attempt may have been made (unsuccessfully) to fix the problem.
4) Finally, forget the continental breakfast. Too many noisy, unruly kids, not enough food and no place to sit.
Staff tried, but was overwhelmed by over-exhuberant young would-be athletes. Their parents should have to accompany them.

Seriously, I spent the weekend at the hotel and it was the worst experience. As we were trying to eat breakfast, a mouse was patrolling the dining room looking for food. When we alerted the front desk, they did not seem particularly concerned. Clearly it was not the first time. The hotel was way under staffed (one person running the bar and the restaurant on a weekend when the hotel was fairly full). Additionally, the rugs were extremely dirty and the rooms smelled. Our group occupied at least 60 rooms and everyone was complaining. I would never stay there again.

Room Tip: Close a room at a different hotel.
