“Not much of a park but good for hiking.”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Good park for hiking and nature walks. Lots of trails. Not sure if they've put in any firepits for cooking like sleeping giant or chatfield hollow state park.

“A park that should be explored”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

We are always impressed with what we find in Devil's Hopyard. The trails are wonderful and very lightly used. An excellent escape for those that want a little solitude. The CCC works are beautiful, Chapman Falls is photogenic and the stream peaceful. A wonderful little park in the CT State Park system

“The premier place to hike, picnic and spend some quality time with you family surrounded by nature.”
Reviewed January 21, 2013 via mobile

My family came here for a picnic when the weather was warm. We hiked the orange trail halfway but had to turn around as part of it was closed due to a previous forest fire. The waterfalls were so beautiful. My oldest son was admiring the fish in the river while my youngest tried to climb on everything. A great day spent without a $ spent.

“A little piece of heaven”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

We ride our motorcycles here at least six or seven times a year, nice winding roads to navigate and quiet little places to pull off for a picnic or to just dip your toes in the brook. Pretty and serene

“worth your while”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

DHSP is one of thr best places in CT to ride your motorcycle through, a fun place to picnic, nice hiking trails, awsome waterfalls and in general a great place to party. As in any area where you'll be away from your car, lock your car and keep valuables in the trunk out of sight before you arrive, there have been a few vandals cought there in the past. Well worth the drive, you won't be disappointed.
