My wife and I spent 5 wonderful days at the Boardman House. Our room was the Garden Suite. The accommodations were excellent. Tastefully decorated, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was completely redone with heated floors. We never ran out of hot water. Mia was a great hostess and her friendly demeanor was a pleasure. I did enjoy her breakfast French toast and her waffles. The Boardman House was just a short walk to the Goodspeed Opera House. In closing, you can't go wrong staying here. Tom and Kathy F.

Room Tip: The Garden Suite had a separate room with a couch and TV. The Garden Suite has a private entrance.

We made a brief stop in East Haddam for the night over the holiday weekend. Mia was extremely friendly and made us feel comfortable. The room is nicely appointed and perfectly cleaned and maintained. The heated bathroom floors and towel rack are such a nice feature. Beware if you visit the town on a Sunday night, do not wait until 8PM to eat dinner, else you will not find anything, the local eateries close early on their whim. Breakfast was delicious, everything was fresh and well planned for. As we were on the main floor in the Corner Room, we were able to enjoy sitting on the back porch over a cup of coffee. The house has been painstakingly restored with historical accuracy and appropriate high-quality antiques. Do look up at the ceiling in the breakfast room, amazing detail. The landscape is quiet and serene and the yard is adorned with manicured bushes and lovely flowers.

Room Tip: If you need absolute quiet, opt for a room not on the main level.

If you have never stayed in an old Victorian home with 12 foot ceilings and 8 foot high windows, painstakingly renovated to as original a state as you can get (within modern constraints) in the rooms and common areas, combined with modern amenities where you want them (That would be in the baths).
The grounds are well tended, and it is only a short walk to the Gelston House Inn and Goodspeed Opera House.
The included breakfast was a choice of a hot entry or a more continental option.
WiFi is available as well. I will come back again.

The Boardman House located in East Haddam, CT, is a small but beautifully restored Inn operated by Mia and her husband. My wife and I experienced personal yet unobtrusive attention throughout our stay. The delicious breakfast was served at the time of your choice. Our room (Corner Room) was small but very comfortable, we slept well. The beautiful bathroom was recently remodeled and spotless, the heated floors were also a nice feature. Lots to do in the surrounding area, the Goodspeed Opera House is a just short walk from the inn.
