Having eaten at the Five Bells a number of times in recent months its provided consistently good food and service. My children who are pizza aficionados now ask to go to the five bells rather than one of the usual chains in Newbury..Staff are friendly and helpful and food quality consistent and very good value.. Great range of beers and I like the third of a pint "tasting" glasses shame I'm always driving... If I was being hyper critical I found the otherwise excellent home made chips a bit over seasoned.. Top pub keep up the good work...

I've been staying at the 5 Bells for over 3 months now and can't praise the pub enough. With clean, modern accommodation, log fires, free Wi-Fi, great food (not just pub grub) and 9 real ales, which are changed regularly, what more could you want? Mark and his team go the extra mile to make you welcome. Thanks to them all. Thoroughly recommended.

Popped in here for lunch on a freezing cold Wednesday . The atmosphere was lovely, with log fires burning. Food was delicious and served quickly - probably the best chips I've had for years. Very friendly service too.

We popped in on a Saturday aftrenoon after seeing a house down the road to re-fuel and check out the local on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were fantastic and didn't bat an eyelid after our 2 year old son had pasted most of his food around the table. Ales are excellent and that is what a pub is all about. Quite quiet for a Sat afternoon but we were looked after very well. Cracking garden at the back.

Been to the Five Bells a handful of times in recent months and its always been very good and the staff are lovely. If you're ever in Wickham then give it a go and its sister pub Lord Lyon which is equally good.
