“Great salads”
Reviewed November 6, 2013 via mobile

I love this place. Reasonable prices and good food. Don't forget to grab something sweet before you go. The salads are really good, as well as the shawrama. Nice people, nice atmosphere.

“Great Middle Eastern cuisine”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Great fresh MidEastern cuisine in Danbury. Excellent, fresh Fattoush and Shawarma. Kibble very good also. Recently expanded for more seating. Good selection of lunch and dinner choices including hummous and baba ghanouj.

“Not real shawarma”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

Given the high reviews, my wife and I expected this would be an excellent Middle Eastern restaurant, albeit in the fast food style. We were disappointed to find that the meat in the "shawarma pockets" were not real shawarma at all (i.e., roasted on a spit and then sliced off), but rather hamburger-like patties. It was still pretty tasty and well-spiced, but really not the same at all in terms of having any nice char and missing some of that flavor you get when the meet has been roasted for a while. We got the combos, which came with yet more pita and unnecessarily massive sides of hummus and tabbouleh, which felt a little wasteful (we should have known better).

Otherwise, the service was very good, and the restaurant/cafe feels very social, with a combination of booths and tables with good light. A good place for hanging out with friends or reading a book over a nice coffee or tea (the coffee is pretty good).

“Great Take-Out”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

We loved this place . People are friendly, and the food was delicious. Falafel was great, as was the baba ghanouj. Our favorite was the shawarma - we had chicken and lamb pockets. The only thing we didn't love was the kibbe, but that could be a matter of taste. Highly recommend this place, and we will be back. Oh, and it's a great value. We had a lot of food (four meals altogether) for around $40.

“I love this place!”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

We ate here on the way over to the movies, and we really enjoyed the food. The dining is casual, and the atmosphere relaxed: you order at the counter (or on the internet, ahead of time!) and they bring the food to your table. Everything we tried was delicious (an order of stuffed grape leaves, a Kibbe combo, and the lamb kibbe combo). The stuffed grape leaves were really good, a large serving, freshly prepared (not the tasteless ones you often get served from a can). We tried some of the pistachio baklava for dessert: it was excellent too. Service was fast and friendly. All this food + two beverages for about $35, just can't be beat.
