“Sesame Seed ...Reliable creative menu, fun & relaxed atmosphere, good prices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013 via mobile

Sesame Seed had been around for years and the location i a converted storefront/home chock a block full of antiques and memorabilia. It never fails to please! Their salads are always crisp and fresh with crumbled feta cheese. Appetizers delight with a mixture of middle eastern specialties such as Hummos, baba ghanouj and tabouli plus a range of other choices. Their wide-ranging Mediterranean memu has something for everyone and the prices cannot be beat.

A mixture of locals and travelers dine here, and if you are looking for a non-cookie cutter approach to dining, you will not be disappointed.

“GREAT FOOD, SLOW SERVICE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

I eat here all the time and the food is GREAT! I especially love their salmon dishes. It's a quaint place with white lights all around it. Inside the motif is "antique" years gone by, which is not my thing, but's that's OK. There is not a lot of room with the seating arrangements... they have small tables. You will have to wait over an hour for your meal, so it's best to go with friends so you can talk a while. You may want to get an appetizer too. The salad is great with the feta cheese.

“Full of flavor”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

I cannot believe that I have lived in the Danbury area for almost 25 years and didn't even know this place existed!! Now, I cannot wait to go back! I went during the week, so were tables available without having to wait. The staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a fun and interesting atmosphere...lots to look at. I ordered the shish kabob and it was different than I expected, but it was very, very good. The grilled veggies were sweet and the lamb was very tender. I also thought the humus was awesome. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know.

“Interesting place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013 via mobile

Sesame Seed Restaurant looks like a residence rather than a restaurant and without the sign in front, we would have missed it. Inside, you're in a flea market, an eclectic collection of "stuff" covering walls and shelves. The most wildly assortment of things I have ever seen as decorations. The food was a mixed bag. I had scrimp with bananas and pecans. It was delicious. The sauce, when mixed with the accompanying rice, was to die for. My wife had a combination platter of ground lamb (kibbe), Greek salad and rice. She felt the lamb was dry while the test of the meal was good. We started the meal with hummus, flat bread, and baba ghnoush. They were all excellent. Best of all, the prices were reasonable. The cost for four of us, with beer, under $90.
