Has anyone ever found a pizza made the way the original la monicos pizza was made? With the thicker crust and sweet pizza sauce

This place is still a pizza restaurant, but it's now called Chunky Tomatoes, and it is under completely new management with a different pizza recipe. Has been for several years. I haven't tried it since the changeover, but hear it's still good. Just thought I'd let you know so you can update accordingly.

Hubby makes his own pizza on a grill and is the best I've tasted.
Comparing it to here, 75% of the time yummy. Few times, just OK. Hubby noticed that different ones made it, and saw one person always was better.
Non pizzas, very good. Haven't eaten them in a while but being a Bristolite, we pay attention to any lowering in quality

This is NOT a Mexican restaurant, as it is classified here, but a pizza joint. LaMonico's is Bristol's oldest pizzeria, and my family has been getting their pizza here for over forty years. Their pizza has a nice thick, bread-like crust unlike any other pizza I've eaten, and isn't greasy. They also make a mean antipasta salad, and they cater too.
