Owner description: This 33,000 sq. ft. restored hosiery factory is the home of the New England Carousel Museum nestled in the heart of downtown Bristol, Connecticut, half way between NY City and Boston. This magnificent, unique Museum is worth the visit. In addition to antique, wooden carousel pieces the Museum has a new working carousel, a carousel restoration workshop,a Museum of Fire History, a Museum of Greek Culture, the Glo Sessions Fine Art Gallery, a changing art gallery, a children's craft center and a gift shop. The Museum is a great place to host a wedding, bar mitzvahs, receptions, performances, dances, meetings and much more with many options that accommodate everything from a bridal shower for 30 people to a sit down dinner for 230 people in our banquet hall.

I was so excited to go this Carousel Museum....and when we pulled up on a Summer afternoon on a Saturday--only one car in lot and it belonged to the lady who worked there. Housed in an old factory brick bldge. it could have had more charm. We talked w/the woman about what was inside and she told us we could take a peek.....well, there was nothing to peek at. Just a large room of painted horses. And NO carousel to ride, just a small one for little ones up to 50 lbs. What a huge disappointment. Admission is only $5 or $6. per person, but did not want to waste the time either!
