“Not For Me!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2011

Stayed here during the Christmas holiday and wished that there were other options in Bridgeport. The place is a security nightmare and reminds one of visiting a movie set for 'Thugsville'. Not a very good area, dissolute, boarded up buildings and the only culinary delight was McDonalds!
The morning breakfast could best be called a 'Fatman's Brunch' that would be appropriate for anyone looking for a carb bing. The bartender who doubled as a dishwasher had limited knowledge of drinks and seemed like a plant in a Scoresse movie. Avoid this place if you can but definitely check it out if you are looking for characters for a B-movie.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms below the 5th floor - too much street noise from the bar down the road.

I was hesitant to stay here, more due to the location, after reading previous reviews. I decided to go for it, and am pleased with my decision. You could walk from the train station, but I called for the shuttle as it was late when I arrived. You could tell it was an industrial town, but didn't look any worse/scarier than any other similar town. Everyone was helpful and curtious. The room was clean and quite. I was pleased to see my favorite Bath & Body Works scent. And free wi-fi is not a given anymore, so that was helpful during my stay. If you are staying for a few nights on business or for a short weekend, this will serve your purpose.

The location was good as compared to the rest of Bridgeport, but the bathrooms could have been better. The elevators were very secure with a good security system. Had a laundry room which was good for us as we had traveled from India. The breakfast was good and the reception staff courteous. However, not value for money being the only five star property in the city.

The hotel is great and is a very comfortable and safe option if you need to stay in Bridgeport (the area is somewhat reminiscent of Michael Jackson's Thriller video at night). The room was modern and had a big flat screen tv. Everything was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. It definitely feels like a marriot or upscale hotel when you compare it with other Holiday Inns. I think the chain has rebranded in the last few years to become more of a full-service hotel chain. The restaurant was very nice and the breakfast that is included in your room rate is incredible. You basically get a voucher and order off the menu. I would stay here again definitely!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Bridgeport for a few nights on business in the area. I was a bit nervous considering that Bridgeport in not a very nice city. However the hotel (althought in a bt neighborhood) was great. The rooms were large and the bed comfy.

Room service is nice because I wouln't go outside after dark and the hotel validates parking.

This hotel was nice! It was clean and the decorum was new and vibrant. My favorite feature was the secure elevators which would only take guests up to the floors if they had a room card. That helped me feel safer about sleeping through the night. Most of the staff that I encountered was very professional. The first night that I arrived was a Sunday and therefore many of the nearby restaurants were closed so I decided to check out the hotel restaurant. I went to the hostess stand and was told that I could sit in the lounge. Nobody ever came to the lounge to give me a menu. I went back to the hostess stand and could not find anyone. The time was around 8:30 pm - late for a Sunday evening maybe, but the restaurant was still open so there really is no excuse. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes and then going back to my room and just eating snacks that I had brought for dinner.

Negative Note: Also, during my trip my cell phone was stolen at a nearby establishment and when I asked the concierge to let me make a few phone calls to make a police report, and call my service provider, she let me make one and then wouldn't let me make any more. I do not recall her name, however she had dark hair and worked the night shift.

Positive Note: Mike the Shuttle Driver was awesome and took me anywhere I needed to go within a 5 mile radius.

The food at breakfast is average and there are limited organic/vegan options.
