Initial impression was kind of a dreary, gray split faced brick exterior, but inside it was bright, clean, thoroughly updated, and every staff member I encountered was positive, helpful and professional. Bridgeport, Connecticut may have seen more vibrant economic times, but this hotel, downtown, is convenient to some good restaurants, attractions, and it appeared they were doing an excellent convention business. I would certainly recommend and stay there again.

Room Tip: Even rooms by elevator shafts are quiet. Any room is going to be good.

Given the rather poor condition of the surrounding area, this was a great surprise and a great find. It appears that the location received an extensive facelift within the last few years and nicely done indeed. From reception to rooms to dining room the facility is very nicely turned out. Also room size was generous. Staff were friendly and helpful and free cookies at the desk in the evening. Parking at reduced rate in parking garage across the street.
Very nice breakfast buffet- free if you are Priority Club member and dinner on two occasions was just fine. Amtrak station is 3 minute walk with commuter trains to New York to the south or New Haven to the north. Only down side is the area which is not realty suitable for walking. This is a nice property!

After a long day of driving from Virginia to Canada, we had to stop for the night. Being in the Bridgeport area, we decided to check the Holiday Inn (not that we had too many choices). We had pretty low expectation, but just wanted a place to rest without breaking the bank. Much to our surprise, the hotel looked very nice! The check-in was easy and fast, and the hotel amenities were very nice (four-star level!) and clean. The room looked completely new. The beds were comfortable, with a choice of soft AND hard pillows, which was a nice touch. Buffet breakfast and parking was included in our rate! Speaking of the breakfast buffet: how about cream cheese and smoked salmon in a Holiday Inn? How can you not be in heaven! Anyway, we felt we had a lot for our money i this hotel. We would definitely stay there if we're ever back in the Bridgeport area. Highly recommended!

When we got off the freeway, we thought the GPS was taking us the wrong way or something. Bridgeport is pretty run-down, to say the least, and we had never been there so the surroundings made us fear the hotel might not be up to our standards. But then we got the best surprise - this hotel was wonderful, all newly remodeled or redecorated, and very comfortable. Rooms were spacious and luxurious. The bathroom was a little small in comparison, but definitely satisfactory. The breakfast buffet was very nice. Parking was in a secure parking garage next door, validated by the hotel.

My husband and I traveled to Bridgeport Connecticut to attend some of the annual Barnum Festival events. The Holiday Inn Bridgeport was a welcome surprise. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Bridgeport, it was a short drive to all the Festival events. The hotel has a beautiful lobby, and very helpful front desk staff. They provided clear maps of the area, and highlighted the routes to our various destinations. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable, with a nice view, comfortable bed, flat screen TV, coffee maker, and mini fridge that worked and actually kept things cold! The complimentary breakfast buffet was lavish; way beyond the typical lobby muffin and thermos coffee, it offered bagels, lox, cream cheese, fluffy scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, yogurt, fresh fruit, toast, muffins, assorted juices, and some of the richest, most flavorful coffee I've ever had. I had the feeling I was in a very posh hotel. To find all this in a Holiday Inn was a delightful surprise. We'd love to go back.

Room Tip: When you call to reserve the room, ask for a room on the top floor. The view is nice.
