If you want a great meal and don't think of Italian food as just spaghetti and meatballs, this is a great spot. Small and intimate; wonderful food that's Naples area centered. Please try to go on off-peak times, as when the evening comes, they can't seem to get their act together for service. I've had evening reservations where I needed to wait an hour, and even then, the order wasn't taken and I spent three hours with nothing more than a drink, olives and some bread. It also seemed like people with a later reservation were seated before we were. They play favorites here it seems.
At early afternoon the lunches were great though pricey. It's much the same food that's available later, but the staff (the bartender in this case) was less harried. My chicken with mushrooms and prosciutto on a bed of spinach was nicely seasoned. For a lunch it was a bit too much, and half came home with me. The prices increase at dinner though the portions seem to be the same largish lunch ones.
The last time I was in Naples I had a wonderful tuna/olive/garlic sauce over pasta that was terrific. I can replicate it at home but wish I could have it eating out. Scungilli is another thing I wanted to see on the menu, and the Suffrito was another thing I want except they were out the last two times there.
My lunches make me forget their dinner faults, and there are certainly meals you can get here that aren't seen on other Italian restaurant menues. Worth a visit!
