“Authentic, fresh, friendly”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

Excellent little restaurant right on Route 1 in Branford,CT. Neat and well laid out and excellent salsa and excellent meals served hot with plenty of salsa and chips with it. Nice selection of cold beer and decent wine. The menu was extensive with all of what you might expect in a good Mexican restaurant. There is outside seating as well. Worth the stop!!

“Always a Great Meal.”
Reviewed July 5, 2012

We're regulars! We love this place. There are other Mexican places in Branford but my husband loves, and always orders either the Salmon special or the Chile Relano's. I always get soft shell taco's... wonderful. Their Margarita's are delish too!! Never disappointed!!

“Not impressed”
Reviewed April 27, 2012

I've eaten here many times over the past two years, because it was one of my father's favorite restaurants. While the service is overall good, I'm not impressed by the food. Many items, like the cheese enchilladas, are drowning in sauce and seem rather greasy.

The dining room can get extremely noisy. There is an outside dining area during the warm weather, but then you have to deal with the vehicle traffic exhaust passing close by.

Note to parents of small children: the last several times I was here, the high chairs were stored in the restroom and not wiped down before brought to the table.

“Best Mexican Food in Connecticut”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

This restaurant is not "fancy", but it is authentic and well decorated. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. In addition to the Mexican fare, there are vegetarian selections, Build A Salad, and seafood including a spicy soup with shrimp. The fajita platter for one person is twice the size of the fajita for two dinner at Chili's and much better. There is a full bar. The restaurant is immaculate and the waite staff is very friendly and willing to accomodate your requests. Our dinners were more than satisfactory but a women at a nearby table was giving the waiter (unfairly) a hard time. The waiter was very patient and answered all of her questions and went back to speak with the chef several times until the customer was satisfied. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived and by the time we left, the place was full of people eating, drinking, laughing, and having a great time. If you are passing through Branford, stop and give this restaurant a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.

“Unfortunately - the Jalapenos went to Limbo”
Reviewed September 30, 2011

Went there on a Friday night at about 7:30PM with my wife. Pulled up to a dirt parking lot with red spray painted parking spaces - thought I was at the state fair. Inside it was loud and full of young families or young adults who sounded like young kids. I ordered the Enchiladas Mole Polbano and my wife had a combo: Enchillada with black bean, chicken enchillada, and a shredded beef taco. OK - the Dos XX beers were good. The rest ... well not too many Jalapeno were "killed" for this meal. All the food was at the lower end of spicy and the enchilladas were lukewarm. The waitress seemed like she was late for a date as she practically order my meal for me - and finishing all my sentences.

Oh where is there a good Mexican restaurant in CT? The search continues.
