it took us a while to find this hotel, but once we did, we stayed here every time we came to New Haven to visit our daughter at college. Family-run business, very nice people. Excellent price for a bed for a night or two. Clean. Safe. Quiet. That's about all I want or need in a hotel.

Older motel, but our room had been remodeled. Clean, large room. Older furniture. Tub slow to drain and tub faucet handle fell off. Seemed a little pricey for a dated place. We'll try someplace else next time we visit.

The Hotel was decent for a short night's stay. The only thing is that the toilet sucked. It wouldn't flush. YUCKO!!!

I did hear the traffic, but it was a quiet type of traffic sound. No loud beeping of horns. We had room 221 on the upper level. The bed was comfortable.

The owner's were friendly. All in all, it was decent for the money.

The Rodeway Inn is directly off the highway, and very close to a gas station, Dunkin Donuts, Friendlys and food store, so the location is good, but the tradeoff is that it can be loud at night- you can definitely hear the traffic on the highway. The room itself was OK. comfy bed, clean, nice bathroom, basic tv, fridge. When we got to our room we discovered the toilet wasn't flushing, but they fixed it ASAP. The front desk guy was very nice and easy to deal with. For the price we paid it was well worth it, but I'd recommend the new Holiday Inn down the road if you're staying for more than a night. Overall I'd say it was fine for a night.

  • Liked — the price.
  • Disliked — minor problems- the toilet didn't flush, it wasn't the cleanest place.

Not bad at all.

(Don't pick this one for the "continental breakfast"! LOL. Just coffee.)

But otherwise this compares favorably with the Holiday Inn Express down the road for a lot less $$.

The room was clean, the bathroom recently renovated. The beds were comfortable. The AC worked nicely, not too loud. The TV worked well, good standard selection with good reception.

Again, a good value. (And there's a good -sized Dunkin Donuts 30 seconds down the road,)

  • Liked — Good value.
  • Disliked — Continental breakfast was only coffee.

PROS: Very good price - very friendly staff - relatively clean room (except furniture a little dusty) - large room with fridge, microwave, TV, ironing board - large bed - A/C, close to I-95

CONS: Traffic noise due to the Interstate nearby, located a little bit away from everything (except the highway) - bathroom needs an update (but very clean)

CONCLUSION: Typical american motel, nothing special but OK for 1 or 2 nights stay. Good rates.

This place was overrated. Yes, the price was low, the front desk staff was friendly , the backyard garden w/its picnic tables & horseshoe game area, bird feeders was very well-tended, the bathroom was spotless , the furnishings were in good condition & the inclusion of a microwave, small fridge & coffee maker for the low rate was a plus BUT and this is a very big BUT the overall uncleanliness of the room was terrible. It seems everything I touched was sticky or had visible signs of grime & dust. I had to ask for a room change & still the 2nd room was the same. The only thing that kept me there besides it being too late for a refund was the spotless bathroom & clean bed . Finally ended up going across the street to SHAWS & getting some disinfectant wipes & proceeded to clean & scrub the room myself before I could retire for the night, After a long evening drive I was not a happy camper. Oh & lest we forget the environs are depressing-in front of the highway & truck stops not far away . Enough. I would not stay here again.
