“Undervalued, Underrated”

We were thrilled to book 3 nights here, we extended to a full week. The owner was so kind and friendly! We commented on the lovely aromas upon entering for check-in and within moments he brought us a bowl of dinner with flat bread to share! Who does that? He and his brother built this motel in 1980 and through the years he has added more greenery that you'll see almost anywhere. There is a private and secure back yard for the kids to exhaust themselves playing. It also contains a hibachi and small weber grill and chairs. Foliage encloses the space and basking is quite safe. They offer a guest laundry on site. The room had a king bed and very functional TV and cable system, a couch with coffee table and the kitchen table also. It has a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, with freezer section (loved that) and unexpectedly, a kitchen sink! We quite often bought a frozen dinner at the store just across the freeway to microwave for dinner. We packed our lunches for our trips to all the shoreline villages up to Stonington. Vern had family buried all along this coast and we were able to find a good number of headstones. The beaches are sweet, though the water is cold. The bed was so very comfortable and the carpet was new. The asphalt in the parking lot was fresh. The owner is very proud of his property and works to keep it updated and fresh. The wifi worked perfectly, I highly recommend this property.

As retirees who travel a lot, we found this hotel well located, with large quiet rooms, and very clean. Special mention for amazingly quiet air conditioner during hot July stay. A bit older and perhaps a little worn around the edges, but definitely a step up from other Rodeway properties we've stayed at. Mr. Patel and his family have owned the property for many years and reside there. Quite the garden in the back.

We stayed here last night pn way from Probincetowm to morthern VA. We
had two rms, each with two beds. Very clean with updated bathrms, good free wifi, good tv and channels, good mattresses. Large rooms with good quiet AC units. As said by others, pillows were a bit thin.
Owners are nice and reside at the Hotel behind front desk. They showed me their private veggie gardens behind hotel where they grow a lot of Indian spices and veggies. They take pride in their hotel. Lobby does smell like Indian food but no odors in the rooms.
Easy place right off 95 and excellent value.

I would support all the positive comments about this motel. You will get a clean room with plenty of space for three people for a good rate (I paid $70 for a week night in June, 2012). There is also a hidden rose garden. Ask the proprietor, he is quite proud of it. For me that is what made this place so special. The proprietor lives on site, has a vegetable garden that I could see from my room, which made me think of all the gardening around the place--which given its proximity to I-95 was very unexpected and nice.

The room we stayed in (222) had a full size bed and a queen. It was a non smoking room--and had no aroma of smoke at all. The beds were comfortable, the linens clean. The heating/cooling system worked well (we were there in the summer, but during a thunderstorm, so we used both). The shower had plenty of hot water and pressure--and one of those bowed out shower bars that slightly increase the space in the tub/shower. A somewhat comical sliver of soap is provided (you don't need more--but it was really small). They also provided a small bottle of shampoo. Plastic cups. Ice machine in the manager's office. The towels are not particularly luxurious--you know--motel towels. A decentiron and ironing board. Real wood hangers that you can take out and put in the closet. TV was not flat screen--come to think of it we never turned it on. The alarm clock radio was old and did not seem to work. --but who uses an alarm clock anymore anyhow?

The continental breakfast was as described by others, nothing much--some coffee and bagels. I did not see a toaster, butter or cream cheese--but I was not looking anyway.

Take a moment and speak to the proprietor; he has a worldly perspective.

Room Tip: We only stayed in one room. 222 looked out over the bay yard where the proprietor had planted his v...

While not the newest, or best decorated motel the friendly courteous staff and privacy + peaceful quiet rooms with 2 windows, bright sunlight/fresh air, private doorway with easy access parking right outside room, clean bathroom+, justify 4+ stars (hassle-free stay, they way it should always be but rarely is at most other hotels/motels). Stayed for 1 week (lowest rates) and likely will stay another week, despite being kind of far from location we need, since so far we've found no other hotels/motels that meet our needs= Pleasant, clean, quiet, hassle-free.

Room Tip: All room locations seem fine- We chose upstairs near end closest to laundry room and fenced (really...
