Local CT brewery with tour guides who know their facts and are very funny. Open houses occur a few times a month - you pay $10 and you get a pint glass to take home and samples of their beer for up to three hours. There is a food cart by a vendor outside of the building. Very limited seating.

Never thought a brewery tour we be such fun. We were able to sample multiple Hooker beers. The brewery was crowded and with trying the samples before the tour, everyone was in a good mood and enjoying themselves. Definitely worth a visit. Great beer!

I like going to their open houses which is every 1st and 3rd friday of the month. You pay $10 and get a cup and get to sample their beers from 5-8 pm. The lines move pretty quick, you defiantly get your moneys worth. Its a little early but this way there is still time to go out afterwards. Staff is friendly and helpful. Its a small place and the big room is a little smelly but it kinda goes away after awhile. Its nice to support a local brewery.

Stopped by for their $5 tour which enables you to sample 10 beers. The tour was informative and the guide had a lot of enthusiasm and knowledge. I am not a huge fan of hoppy beers, so the IPA was not for me but others in the group liked it. For my taste, the Munich was a nice balanced lager and the Imperial Porter hit the spot on a cold March day. On the tour we sampled the Watermelon lager ... Interesting and definitely could taste the watermelon. Loved the Chocolate Stout ... Really rich. Took home a growler of Irish Red for dinner.

One thing I didn't care for was the over the top sexist gear and promotional materials. Come on guys, you can do better than that... This is the 21st century after all.

Get rid of that and I'd give it a 5 overall.

What a great little spot - we learned of this by looking at the Connecticut web site where there was a listing for the beer trail. If you are even if you are not a beer drinker a great fun place to visit with bunch of friends for a tasting and tour. The tour itself is just ok and last about 15-20 minutes what is fun is that you get to do a tasting right from the tank and the day we were there it was a excellent a beer that you could not normally taste or buy at the plant which we thought was a bit odd. It is really the tasting for $5 you get to 10 tastings and all very interesting on our visit we had the choices from chocolate to a nice blond ale. The staff was great and you can see that they enjoy what the do! A fun thing to go and do with a bunch of friends for something different or just a way to spend a cold winter day.
