“Classic Landmark, Good Stop for Bethel Cinema”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013

My dad and i went yesterday as a couple of the restaurants near the cinema weren't open. It isn't 5 star fare, but its inexpensive, with quick, good food. A good date place before a movie in fact! I had the honey mustard chicken wrap with fries. Fries were a little greasy but wrap was loaded with spinach, quality chicken and yummy honey mustard sauce dripping out. Coleslaw was located plate-side and was the standard stuff "out of the jar". Service was friendly, atmosphere was fun and old fashioned. Would definitely go back...especially for a quick bite before a movie at the bethel cinema.

“classic drive-in”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

You have to drive thru downtown Danbury to get there from I-84, but it is worth the trouble. Best item was the root beer float-delicious!! Hamburger and beans were good, but really enoyed the pot o'beans on the side.

“Been coming to the Sycamore in Bethel since the 60s; real Americana”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

The Sycamore is drive-in or sit-down hot dog/hamburger/milk shake place that is a real experience, far superior to Sonic or Johnny Rockets since it is a REAL place that goes back to the 50s and 60s, not a phony knockoff of what some corporate clown who IMAGINES what a drive-in is. The service is great, as is the food and experience of seeing the knicknacks and muscle cars in the parking lot.

I try to get to the Sycamore in 'out-of-the-way' Bethel every few years and am never disappointed. The waitresses still seem the same age: high school students from nearby Joel Barlow High School. Root beer floats are good too, and prices are lower than Sonic or Johnny Rockets, although you really can't compare them. True, may not be as clean but this place is maybe 60 YEARS OLD, maybe built in early 1950s. And my son always wants to come here for the chicken even though it is out-of-the-way from the shoreline in lower Fairfield county.

“Eh, it's ok”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2013

This place has been around forever, and is a niche type of place. Burgers are much better at five guys. Place isn't overly clean not did the staff do much in way of cleaning the counter when I sat at the counter after a patron just left. It's not bad. It's ok. They are bit pricey and no refills
