This is a favorite stop for me and my motorcycling buddies in the summer time. Great and varied BBQ dishes - try the BBQ chicken - always so tender and seasoned to perfection; ribs (pork or beef) are great too. There are many traditional sides to choose from as well in addition to a bunch of scrumptious desserts. I also enjoy the Teamonade (Iced Tea & Lemonade). The owner is a very friendly guy - also a motorcycle enthusiast and the staff is usually very friendly and helpful. I'll be back!

Connecticut Magazine has rated these ribs the best for many years. The meat falls off the bones and the many sides that accompany the ribs include sweet potato fries and cornbread. The Mexican choices are available in varying spicy levels. The lively bar includes many beers on tap. Its location next door to the quaint Bantam Cinema, a frequent stop of many a celebrity living in Litchfield County, makes it a destination for locals and tourists. The informal atmosphere welcomes everyone.

I've eaten here maybe 12 times, starting in the late 90s when it was only 20 miles from Avon...now it's 40 miles and still worth the trip (a lovely drive, btw). Tremendous. Good variety on the menu menu of apps, salads, sandwiches and, of course, various BBQ (pork ribs, beef ribs, pulled pork, chicken, brisket...plus combo platters so you get some of 2 things) and a variety of Mexican dishes. All very good, very fresh. Great/friendly service in a quaint-casual-little local institution hiding just off Rt. 202. A dining room on one side, a bar with booths and TVs on the other. Plus it's known for its Margaritas! And the prices are fair, portions are fine.

I can recommend the nachos, "saddle bags" (crispy pieces of bbq pork) and sausage/cheese crisp as apps. You actually can't lose here. This Saturday night we shared the very generous Sampler -- pork ribs, 2 beef ribs (our fav), quarter of chicken and pulled pork...plus 2 nice pieces of Jalapeno Corn Bread and two sides (baked beans and collard greens were very nice and tasty). At $36, hard to beat. (other nice prices: $3.50 for 16 oz draft beer...4.50 for homemade raisin bread pudding ala mode....and the warm chips and homemade chunky salsa to greet you is free!).

And did I mention it's next to the Bantam Cinema?! Movie and a dinner....A Great Night Out!!

One of the best BBQ places I have ever eaten at. Every time I go the place is always crowded; I prefer sitting in the bar area but the wait isn't usually too long.

While the food does take a bit longer than usual (really nothing to complain about) it is always great. I tried for the first time a Mexican side dish (Mini-Chimi) which was anything but mini.
