“This small town cinema shows big movies”
Reviewed March 18, 2012

A local institution, this small and comfortable oold style movie theater is a gem. If you love the cineplex at a mall you would hate it, but if you want to see a possibly off-the-beaten-track movie in a fun environment, this is it. The films are often foreign and not playing in many other venues in the are, if any. That can make this a destination movie theater, which is a treat these days. If you love movies and how they used to be, this is the place to go. It is a great place... Terrific popcorn, too.

“Great movies, both first run and eclectic, but antiquated sound.”
Reviewed January 14, 2012

Somehow this cinema found a way into my work email. After a brief bout with annoyance, I have actually allowed the weekly emails to continue because the write-ups are interesting and the film offerings are great. We decided to do a date night with Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The movie was a great interpretation of Le Carre. Unfortunately the sound system volume was so low, that it was a strain to hear. When the reels switched mid movie, it got even lower. It really ruined the movie. The decor is a fun rustic so you have to have expectations accordingly. But the $10 ticket price should give you the right to have an "adequate" experience. Unfortunately this was not the case.

“Cozy little place”
Reviewed January 6, 2012

Only place in the area that shows foreign films. With only one screen, it's like a special event and a bit nostalgic.
