Bantam Bread started out MANY years ago making wonderful baked goods with a friendly and helpful staff. Alas, the years have passed and while the products are still very good, their prices have soared and their staff have chilled. A kalamata olive loaf, once $3+ is now $6.25 a loaf. Their scrumptious quiche, once $13 reached $30, and on it goes. Folks passing through or visiting for the weekend may find this acceptable and I guess that's what keeps the place going. Oh yes, and the fact that they sought to become a major commercial operation in Plainville CT kind of killed their "locavore" mystique. We long for the "old days."
