My family was visiting relatives in the Denver area on a Friday and we took a drive to Winter Park for the day. It took about an hour from the Western Suburbs of Denver. Upon arriving at the resort just before 10am, we followed the signs for "Summer Activity Parking" which led us to the parking structure where parking was free. We walked through the shops in the Village and then went to the ticket windows to buy the all-day pass which is good for unlimited activities, including the Alpine Slide. All of the activities were fun, We took a break for lunch and ate at Lime, An American Cantina, the food and service were good. Vettes On the Rockies was going on that weekend. The Corvettes were parked throughout the Village. Also, at 4pm a musical group started playing at the Gazebo by the pond. It was a free concert and was a great setting. Throughout the Village you will find life-size board games such as Scrabble, Connect Four, Checkers and Chess. It is a free, fun activity. Before leaving for the day we shopped a little more and also had ice cream from Goodys Mountain Creperie. The ice cream was very good! There are a lot of summer activities at this resort. The next time we visit in the summer, we will probably have to ride bikes on the mountain. A lot of people were doing that and it looked like fun. Overall, we had a great day and would recommend Winter Park for fun summer activities. Consult the resort's website before going so that you are aware of the activity prices and any special offers and events.
