This was my first trip to Winter Park even though I've lived in the area for 20 years. I was delighted by the Park, liking it better than others I've visited. Rather than being on one side of a busy highway like some resorts, Winter Park is tucked back into the mountains so is quieter which I loved. The mountains don't show the ravages of beetle kill that you will note on the drive up. Once you get into the Village, their efforts to be family friendly are apparent. You'll find gaming available every few yards: chess, scrabble, jenga, pick up sticks, checkers...all large sized which children will love.

Free smores are available at various times...all this before you even make it to the big play area. There you'll find a maze, trampoline, biking, wall climbing, mini-golf (which shows its age but hey, there's so much to do), and mini-zip line. PLUS, the most fun I've had in ages, the Alpine Slide. NOT to be missed. By a day pass or you'll be unhappy with the price per ride.

Food isn't cheap but there are some reasonable options. Public restrooms are well-marked and clean. Venue staff are very courteous and kind to children, a real plus.

Our entire family had a magnificent time. You will, too.

With a little preparation and planning, you can ski the entire area for less than a day of Eastern skiing. There is no shortage of varied terrain for all levels of skill. Resort Hosts are stationed to assist with all questions and needs. Everything is there and reasonably priced for a resort of this caliber.

Free Gondola ride down to Village @ W/P Resort. You can bring your dog on GONDOLA...awesome! Great food and shops to look at! Don't miss it even if you aren't a ski bum!

Don't bother with the hotdogs and overpriced water, just head to the actual restaurants in the village and derailed bar, which had excellent service and tap water to help you hydrate. The happy monk had excellent selection and an amazing happy hour. The downhill rental people were hit or miss on service, but enough of them were helpful and not burnt out

Needed something for 14 year old. Alpine Slide was great. Would have done the mt bike lessons as well but it wasn't going to work with our plans. Staff was great as well.
