This is the best ski resort just west of Denver (1 hour away) and I have been going there every weekend since moving here in January 2013. The Mary Jane side of the resort is my favorite to park at and we regularly tailgate and party with other locals from the area (reminds me of FL beaches where I came from!). MJ and WP are connected resorts with MJ being the more local type place (totally chill - no hotel village) and then more of a traditional resort on the WP side. Skiing is awesome and the snow has been better than any other resort in the area. I have skied places like Breckenridge and Vail and still think this is the best!

We go to winter park and ski almost every year. This year, we had fresh powder almost everyday! If you want a discount on lift tickets, go to a shell gas station and fill up 10 gallons. The gas station will give you a buy 1 lift ticket get one free voucher. (Good Monday-Friday at WP). For weekend discounts use liftopia (.com)

Winter Park seems to understand the customer service model. I just spent a week there - from the folks walking around with a question mark sign (they are there to answer questions) to the lifties, all seem to have been throughly instructed on exactly what makes for a positive customer experience.

Winter Park is a massive area. While spring sonditions exist toward the bottom, there is plenty of excellent snow in the higher elevaions. I especially appreciated the Blue/Black combo runs. I have skiied at dozens of areas and Winter Park offers a delightful mix for all abilities. As to lift lines, the longest I was in was perhaps 1 minute - no joke.

Good slopes, with a mixture of greens (european blues) blues (european reds) and blacks. The runs were quite pretty through the trees with no real motorway skiing. Plenty of powder and the runs were well maintained.

Excellent for disabled skiiers, with the usa school for disabled skiiers situated at the resort. I was amazed at watching blind children navigate the slopes with their volunteer guides. Fantastic!

not many eating places on piste like in europe but this is to be expected for the states. The lodges that were available served reasonably priced food and drinks although very busy (it was spring holiday for students).

I had trouble with the altitude for about 3 days. So if you come from low elevations to this resort would definately recommend some tablets - if available, and if not then headache tabs and drink heaps of water. I did, and took headache tabs but suffered from lack of appetite and headaches. I have skiied at altitude before and not been so bad and put it down to the fact that the actual resort/sleeping location was high altitude as well so you get no rest from it.

Not a big skier, but plenty of other stuff to do in the snow. Take the Continental Divide snow mobile tour with Grand Adventures. Stayed at Bear Crossing Town Homes and location and price was great. Plenty of restaurants and shopping. Tubing was a blast as well.
