Winter Park Chateau
Ranked #2 of 3 Winter Park B&B and Inns
Reviewed March 27, 2014

We had a great 2 night stay at the Winter Park Chateau. The room was great and the fireplace was welcome during our February stay. Getting to and from the Winter Park Resort couldn't have been more convenient. The shuttle bus stops right at the bottom of the driveway! We also found some nice places for dinner within walking distance. We will definitely recommend this B&B to our friends.

The owners, Laura and Greg, do a splendid job on creating a fun, comfortable place to stay that also gives value as a community. The downstairs rooms encourage mingling with other guests which seemed an important experience for everyone staying here. The owners knowledge of local dining is only matched by how well they are liked and known about town. We had some dinning discounts as part of our package and this was enhanced by other deals available to all the guests at local eateries. We loved the variety and quality of the breakfasts. Eggs, burritos, French toast, good coffee and juice. The evening snack/happy hour was a favorite too and allowed time with other guests. The rooms are sumptuous and comfortable and the Chateau is well appointed and wonderfully eclectic, suiting a ski/mountain getaway. Rates are higher than hotels but having lived in hotels we can say that the added benefits described above give value that you won't find elsewhere. The location is very good and allowed us to walk every evening to different restaurants throughout town. Other reviewers complain about the train. We love the romance of the train and its connection with this part of Colorado. Having stayed in many places in Winter Park and Fraser over many years, we don't know of a place where you won't hear the train... :), in fact, that is another great way to come and stay at the Chateau, on the Amtrak from Denver! We hope to return and stay here again.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have a back entrance, decks and parking which we found useful.

Our stay far exceeded our expectations,Laura and Greg the owners really could not have been more accommodating from loaning us ski pants as my luggage had not arrived,to offering daily ideas as to where to visit by day and for dinner at night. The rooms were absolutely beautiful, clean and cosy with free wifi. The hot tub was a wonderful retreat after a day on the slopes, as was the welcome back to the Chateau with the complimentary wine and nibbles. The breakfast was fantastic, setting us up for the day ahead.I would reccommend the Winter Park 100% to all.

Room Tip: There is a choice of rooms all lovely but unique to each other

This was a pleasant surprise. We've been coming to Winter Park for several years during the ski season and never knew this B&B was here. We felt very welcomed and at home as soon as we arrived. The 5:00 wine and hors d'oeuvres were refreshing and it's so fun to put on slippers and enjoy the community/TV room with other guests. If we wanted to be by ourselves, we went up to our room and made ourselves cozy by our gas fireplace.
The breakfast is fabulous. Laura and Greg really outdo themselves each morning with fruit, an egg souffle or other egg dish, and a sweet roll or other side dish.
The location is in the center of Winter Park and the ski bus comes right at the end of the driveway. Very convenient! We hope to be back soon!!

The name is definitely misleading. It is not a boutique B&B but an ecletic mix of decor, less than gourmet breakfast and poor attention to detail. The price is boutique but that is about it. I was not impressed and would not return.

I'm sorry this guest was unsatisfied with their stay. We promote ourselves as a boutique B&B, but I guess that means different things to different people. We do have an ecletic mix of decor and most think that's charming. Guess you can't please everyone all the time….

What an excellent experience. We arrived and had our skis delivered at a good price and organised by the inn keepers. The ski bus picks you up at the front door and drops you a few minutes down the road at the ski resort. After a long day skiing we returned to cheese and wine and were provided with recommendations of local restaurants to eat. We woke up early to find breakfast prepared before we headed out to another day on the slopes. The room was awesome and the hosts were so generous. I have never stayed at a B&B before but will definitely consider doing it again because we had so much fun! We are hoping to sneak in another couple of nights before heading back to Oz!

Room Tip: We were on the first level and had a nice fireplace and very spacious. Also had our own patio. I t...

We stayed for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The rooms are large and the beds are comfy. The breakfasts are outstanding - homecooking at its best and large portions! The evening social hour is nice and we enjoyed our wine and "snack" - very tasty and nice variety. The property is beautiful, easily accessible and very clean! The hot tub is great! Susan and Robert are wonderful hosts. We look forward to another visit.

Room Tip: Loved the Durango room (jetted tub a plus!). Easily accessible by parking in the rear. Small little...
