Description: Abrusci's Fire and Wine is a family-owned and operated business. The owners and general manager live locally and have been together in business for 16+ years. We recently moved from 32nd/Youngfield to 22nd/Youngfield and are proud to own our own place, designed with customer service in mind. There is seating in our main dining room including at our pizza bar as well as indoor/outdoor seating in our bar and patio. The menu is similar to our Italian menu from our former location but now we have expanded the appetizers and included a bar/patio only menu to continue after the dining room closes. Our brunch is on Saturdays and Sundays only when we open earlier, serving brunch from 9am through 4pm. We are also taking reservations for parties 5 and over, otherwise it is first come, first served with open seating in the bar. Please be considerate of our neighbors when you park. The City of Lakewood encourages neighborhood parking versus large parking lots so we are doing our best to be good neighbors ourselves.

I've driven by this place a zillion times and never noticed this restaurant as it is in the middle of a strip mall and is overshadowed by several chain restaurants. The exterior isn't something that pulls you in either. The interior is nice, not huge or fancy but they are attentive and pleasant and very proud of the food they are serving. It is nice to get away from the run of the mill chains for a change. Our table ordered the chicken parm, rigatoni and Italian sausage, and baked ravioli for dinner with tiramisu and chocolate ravioli to share for dessert. The only item we were disappointed in was the chocolate ravioli. We'd pass on that one next time. My husband and daughter were thrilled with the tiramisu! All of the portion sizes were plenty generous and cost was also reasonable. You could tell there were a lot of "regulars" in the dining room. The dining room is one large room which was filled with tables of multigenerational families and their kids.....it did a bit loud from time to time but it was very homey and pleasant. No complaints from us!!

My grandparents live in the Golden/ Arvada area and ever since they brought be to Abrusci's a few years ago we've gone there several times- it's always been one of my favorite restaurants to go to when I'm home. The menu is fairly extensive and they have individual sized entrees as well as family sized entrees which serve 2+ people. Their linguini with tomato sauce and chicken is amazing- very flavorful and the chicken is cooked to be perfectly tender. We seem to have some of the same servers overtime and one of them doesn't write anything down but always gets our orders exactly right the first time. The service is fairly fast, and friendly.

They have the BEST garlic bread. They have fresh baked white bread and they give you a garlic "dip" which is mixed with olive oil- our whole family eats it so fast, it's so addicting and delicious!

We also ate here on Mother's Day in 2012- very glad we made a reservation a couple weeks in advance as it's a smaller place. Next time I'm back in the Colorado area with my family I'm sure we'll dine here again as it's hard to find something there we don't like and there's something for everyone!

Why is it that so few restaurants can deliver good food and service consistently? Take Abrusci's in Golden: a couple of years ago, when we first discovered it, we were delighted to find good Italian food (even if cooked by an American Chef) delivered cheerfully in pleasant atmosphere and priced reasonably. We had not visited for a while and decided to give it a try on a recent trip to Denver. It was not good. Gone the good extra virgin oil for your bread, you get instead the cheapest quality light oil with some miserable concoction in it, tasting vaguely like fermenting cheese. The bread is pathetically bad. The house salads were about the only thing that was good. The food is now what I call "American Italian", which is, lots and lots of cheese and tomato sauce over everything. We were in a hurry, so we ordered simply pasta: what could go wrong with pasta in an Italian restaurant? Plenty! My spaghetti marinara were so overcooked and with such distasteful sauce that I left them untouched. Our request for fresh pepper resulted in our waitress bringing a jar with red Mexican crushed flakes! My lunch companion had spaghetti aglio e olio, overcooked and dry. Both pastas came with some unidentifiable cheese mush dropped in the middle of the plate. The espresso presented itself in the shape of some clear-brownish liquid. It was a disaster.

Nice place, great food. The roasted garlic with olive oil served while waiting our dished was terrific.

This independent restaurant promotes itself as having "absolute best DAMN Italian food!" And, it backs up its claim. I have tried multiple Denver Italian restaurants and this is as good as it gets. Combine the Rigatoni with the fantastic bread and gelattor. You will be very glad that you did.
