The Westin Westminster
Ranked #4 of 19 Hotels in Westminster
Reviewed September 8, 2007

The Westin Westminster is a large, opulent Westin close to 36, Westminster, and Broomfield, perhaps 12 miles from Boulder. The lobby has powerful stonework, the restaurant is excellent, with a passable wine list, the young waitstaff is well-trained.

Yes the lobby was nice...but my room was GROSS. I checked in at about 3:30pm--early--yet the dimwit at the front gave me a handicap room (I am not handicapped). I'm a Starwood member, so I expect better service. I stayed in a room on the 4th floor, and the bathroom was disgusting. The shower had mold so thick in the corners, it was unbelievable. I asked them to come up with some bleach and clean it out. The shower had a pulldown seat for the handicapped, which you can bet I wasn't going to touch with a 10foot pole. There were pubes in the soap holder. The floor of the shower was always "greasy."
The water has a response time of about 2 minutes. That means, if the water is too hot, you turn the handle to make it cool down--but it takes a minute or 2 for that to happen. Then if you got it too cool, you're going to be waiting another few minutes for it to warm up again. The bathroom counter is non-existant. No where to put anything. There was a mini-fridge in the room, but it was about 1 degree cooler than the room temp. The bed was fine, once I got some pillows stuffed under the mattress on the side by the phone where everyone sits down.
I won't stay here again. Why bother, when there's a lovely, brand new Renaissance right up the road in Broomfield?

Great hotel. Stonework internal to the hotel is impressive. It reflects what Colorado is to an east coaster. Great service. The heavenily accessories are always nice.

I don't know how my Dad made our reservations but this hotel is really nice with nice employees. The bellmen were always nice and almost all of them are hot. They drove us for free to malls and restaurants. The best were the conceirgis. Tom White and Janet Brackeen helped us alot. Jan planned our trip back home to Phoenix and gave us maps and water and her phone number to call. I love this hotel. It has a Dave&Busters and 24 movies next door. Boulder is so cool.

We stayed here for the weekend and had a great time. The bar/restaurant within the hotel is great. The food is wonderful kinda pricey, but good. We sat at the bar all night on friday i suggest the pomagranate mojitto. The surronding is very nice, Not much to do, but very relaxing. I also suggest eating or having a couple drinks on the patio. The rooms are ok, ask for a mounitan view.

This is a beautiful Hotel especially not being right downtown. If in the area, I wouldn't recommend any other place. I've been to the Double Tree, Omni, Renaissance, etc. This is by far the best of the bunch in the area. As an SPG Platinum member, I was acknowledged and given a SPG Floor (Westin's don't typically have lounges in North America). Very clean and great looking hotel. I frequent the area a lot for business and will be back to the Westin for every visit.
