Wearing a colorful shirt or one with a flowered pattern helps attract the butterflies. The pavilion area also displays moths and butterflies in various stages of growth. Fantastic if they are breaking free while you are watching. There are bees that come and go to the outside (you see the honeycomb and sometimes the queen). There are insects, beetles, etc. from various parts of the world with information about them and the region they are from - very interesting. There is aquatic life and there is Rosie the trantula. My grandchildren love her and her "keeper" is very good. You can take an outdoor nature path which is quite interesting. As with all such places there is a gift shop.

This place is very good. It was smaller than we thought but the price was very good. It would be very good for younger kids. There was a maze inside that was nice and then there are trails outside that you can walk also.

Is available for perching on your hand,if you wish. Then inside quaranteed area of tropical butterflies in forest like setting is very interesting, even if you aren't a 7 month old grandchild tagging along. Best to see after 1pm during week,as schoolkids on possible field trips would be bothersome. When you leave exhibit, you enter closed area to make sure no butterfly on you to get out,as these are strictly tropical ,and not native to north america.

My wife and I stumbled across the Butterfly Pavilion one day when we were both off of work. We moved to Arvada ~1.5yrs ago so we are still exploring everything Denver has to offer. This was a fun outing, even for a couple of 30yr olds. There were a lot of kids there (presumably on field trips) so I would certainly recommend this to families with small kids. In a sense, it reminded me of a small version of the botanical gardens, downtown. It was a bit pricey for adults but I believe children were fairly cheap.

Not huge. But a lot to do and see. The butterfly's are wonderful. The staff is absolutely terrific. Kids really had a neat time. Lots of hands on exhibits. Big bugs and fish in easy to see display cases.
