We spent a great afternoon in this creative place. There is a nice display of sea creatures, creepy-crawly creatures (hold the tarantula!), and of course, butterflies. They are everywhere, and all so beautiful. A highlight is the butterfly release when they set free new butterflies. Be prepared to take a LOT of pictures! Good for kids and adults. It is very warm and steamy in the tropical environment, so I bet this is a great activity for chilly weather.

This place is more than butterfly place. The first place you go is a bug area where you can see bugs like scorpions, centipedes and bees. They have many tarantulas and you can even touch one of them named Rosie (…or more like Rosie can touch you.) The second place is a little aquarium where you can see and touch horseshoes and star fish. Still the marquee is the butterfly area where you can be with all those butterflies in the large temperature/humidity control room. They were beautiful and fascinating. The moment you step in there, they gracefully fly around you and you are in awe. They also have a nature trail outside. We didn’t venture out there but we saw a group of children led by a guide on the trail. A fun place for both adults and children.

Nothing to dislike. Great variety of butterflies and other bugs. The staff are well trained and well mannered. This is a place all children should enjoy...even grandparents. They also have nice learning activities for children.

We expected to see more butterfly species during our visit. We had previously been to a butterfly center in Key West that was amazing so we were a little disappointed with the number of butterflies. But the pavilion was very nice, informative and we got to hold a tarantula!

This is not someplace that takes all day, but if you find yourself in the Denver/Boulder area and have a coupel of hours this is well worth your time. I have been many times, as my kids have grown, we always find other friends that have not been and come up with an excuse to visit. The Butterflies are fun to watch... Haven't yet seen one emerge. Another review said it was $16.50 to get in, but this week it was only $9.50... Perhaps that was a middle of the week day. Anyhow. This time we saw a butterfly release which was pretty fun.. Oh yeah, on my first visit back in 1989 or so, that is what convensed me to get a digital camera.. Can take some beautiful photos, but tough to get just the perfect moment!
