Was told about this pub by a local lady and she highly recommended it. She was not wrong. Amazing setting and a lovely pub. Staff couldn't do enough and were very pleasant and the food is top notch. Use their home grown produce too. Amazing!!

Beautiful old beamed Cornish pub, magical setting and at night lovely twinkling lights all round the garden. Warm roaring fire in the winter. Would like to see more of the lamb and meat dishes as these are superb.

The pub has a fantastic ambience.
We visited in the lunch hour session and both chose two starters. The lambs liver with bacon and mushroom sauce on a bed of toast was delicious and filling,as was our other selection of mussels in a garlic and wine sauce. The mussels were large and very fresh tasting.
Total of £15 each person was excellent value.
I also enjoyed my pint of St Austell Brewery 'Proper Job' IPA which was light and refreshing.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Overall a great experience. Get yourself down there !

We were keen to book here as it is the only eatery within walking distance of our holiday accommodation and we saw some good reviews. However we left feeling rather let down.

Firstly our reserved table wasn’t ready when we arrived. We were offered a table in the bar area but declined and after 20 minutes our table became free. The starters were excellent - we ordered the muscles and the scallops and both were very good.

The main courses were not good however, the issue being the underwhelming offer - ok if you were looking for basic pub grub - fish pie, lasagna, burgers, roast chicken etc but as this was our only meal out during the week we were hoping for something a bit more varied.

I actually found it hard to choose something I fancied but eventually went for the ribs thinking they would be a bit different. However when presented with half a carcass, some greasy looking onion rings and a tub of coleslaw my appetite evaporated and I left most of it. Husband went for the burger which he said was ok but far too big. We left without bothering with dessert or coffee and rather wished we’d eaten in again and saved ourselves the expense.

Hi Andrewmadden2015
Sorry to hear that you found our food offering uninspiring, we are often told that we don't do enough 'pub grub'.
However, we do appreciate feedback so obviously this will be forwarded on to the whole team.
Many thanks
