We planned a trip to Colorado before the government shut down but knew our route had been compromised by bad weather in that area. We decided to approach Rocky Mountain National Park from the North so travelled through Wyoming. My husband did a lengthy search to find a stopping place along our route and was pleased to find Antlers Inn in Walden, CO. The facility on the main street of Walden looked like it had been there forever and I was a bit skeptical about staying there. Check in was in the restaurant downstairs and we were told we had room 10. We went upstairs and discovered our room was very comfortable with a lovely large bathroom with duel showerheads in the shower. We spent a very comfortable night. The room was very clean with everything we needed. Enough electrical outlets for all of our devices to get charged up. Nice people on the staff.

Room Tip: We liked room 10 with its king bed and large comfortable bathroom

If you like
Medieval rooms, heavy furniture, 2inch thick doors, cast iron furniture this is the place for you. Very clean, but the tv didn't work. Staff were friendly only after they knew we were staying there. Food in cafe ok! But heavy duty. Room clean and well resources. No tea or coffee!:(
an ok place to stay, but a little pretentious!

We stayed here on Labor Day weekend. The property here is first class. Very beautiful wood and old western décor with a modern twist. The hotel was decorated with no expense spared. Our room was clean and comfortable and the café has great food and service. Would love to stay here again. The balcony has a beautiful view too.

Room Tip: Our room had two dbl beds. The bathroom was plenty big. The rooms are up a flight of stairs but th...

We stayed here in June 2013 at the start of our great American road trip. At first we couldn't decide how old the place is - it is,in fact only 10-15 years old but you could be forgiven for thinking it was built 100 years ago. The interior styling is really well done with great use of timber. Our room was a little on the small side.

Good food, but the décor & the friendly staff made this a truly excellent place to eat. We were encouraged to go upstairs & look around; next time, this is where we will stay. We were lucky to arrive late on a Sunday evening so parking was no problem, and we're agile enough to have enjoyed the trek up to the 2nd floor just to look around. The balcony overlooking main street would have been a perfect place for morning coffee.
We loved it.

A turn of the century (20th that is!) hotel with modern amenities. Walden and North Park Colorado are about as remote as you can find in Colorado. This is the kind of town and Hotel that Teddy Roosevelt would be hanging around in if he were alive today!

The rooms are very nice, upstairs sitting room is just plain cool, and the restaurant superb. This is beef country, the Saturday prime rib dinner special, was special. We have had too many prime rib dinners to count, this was truly the best ever. Service was great and the restaurant ambiance is something you wouldn't expect in this out of the way place. No elevator, no problem!

Nice rooms, friendly people, decent prices and good restaurant. But be forewarned that the rooms are on the 2nd floor and you will have to carry luggage up steep and long stairs so if you have leg issues this might not the place for you. Also, no parking lot you will need to parallel park on the main street which was generally not an issue to find a space close by.

Room Tip: See review steep stairs
