Stayed there for the pro bike race that was in town. Overall a nice stay. My room overlooked a roof and the air conditioner but was nice none the less. Would go back but would require a mountain view room

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with us! Of course I was disappointed to learn that the view from your room was not to your liking, and we would have been happy to address that. Since virtually all of our rooms face either Vail Mountain to the south, or Bald Mountain to the north, we'd love to have the opportunity to be your host again, so you can get the full Vail Mountain Lodge experience, INCLUDING a view.

Please let me know when your travel plans will include Vail again, and I'll be happy to work with you to assure you of a satisfactory view.

We stayed here last year as well and really liked the location and the free breakfast so we decided to stay here again. Unfortunately, both times we were not able to sleep well because they have no a/c so you have to keep the windows open. Last time, we heard a truck come by at 3:58 a.m.

Next year, we will reluctantly be staying elsewhere because of the a/c - noise issue. I am sure any other month, this hotel would be great. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were nice, the free breakfast buffet was pretty good and everyone was so friendly.

Thank you for sharing your impressions with us. You are correct, due to the original construction of our building, we have been unable to upgrade by air conditioning the building at this time, and, thankfully, have very few summer days when it would truly be a benefit. Our fresh-air circulation system generally does the trick. The noise is an occasional unfortunate by-product of our location in the heart of Vail Village. Ordinances restrict the amount of truck traffic allowed into the pedestrian areas during the night, and I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience you encountered. Please reconsider your decision to stay elsewhere, as we would love to have your family join us again to experience our true hospitality.

We stayed at this location June 11-13, 2011; my husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed the property. The Lodge is located right on the creek, and there is a walking path directly behind it. The rooms were quiet and the beds comfortable; the staff was very helpful in directing us to the free self-parking (only in the summer) structure and local restaurants. It was only a 2 minute walk to our car and the bus station; it was probably a 5 minute walk to the village area and restaurants. The complementary breakfast in the Terra Bistro was the best hotel breakfast I've ever had-everything was fresh and organic, and they had wide selection of choices. We also took advantage of the spa, and enjoyed spending time in the outdoor jacuzzi tub by the creek before our massages. The spa accommodations were very nice, I would recommend getting there early to use the facilities before your treatment. We loved this Lodge and would not hesitate to stay there again on our next trip.

Room Tip: Take advantage of room deals between seasons.

The location was perfect - it's near the main entrance - which is a plus for those who wish to drive in/out in order to get to some of the area's other attractions/mountain resorts. The valet service here was outstanding. The rooms are clean, and vary in terms of exact layout. The one room I stayed in (a 1 bedroom) had a very VERY nice bath layout and vanity, as well as a dry bar area. Refrigerators are in every room, as are fireplaces, I believe.

The bus rolls right up in front of the property and also around the corner, so it's a breeze to get to the lifts. It is also super-convenient to all that East Vail has to offer, and just a short walk or bus ride to Lionshead.

The Spa is OUTSTANDING! One of the best massages I have ever had I here here. The facilities, including the Vail Athletic Club are immaculate and WAY more than one would expect. There is even a giant rock-climbing wall! Just amazing. No pool, but plenty of indoor and outdoor jacuzzi's - and the Men's Locer Room has both a large (really large) hot whirlpool, as well as a cold splash pool as well - which, I learned, really helps cut back on post-skiing soreness.

The restaurant, Terra Bistro - well, it's outstanding. There isn't much I could possibly add here that hasn't already been covered in other reviews - but suffice to say we wanted to eat here every night! And the breakfast each morning is SUPERB!!! (and pretty healthy as well!)

The staff and management are all top-notch. Everyone is so nice, saying "Hello" when they see you - even calling us by our first names. They were across the board gracious and beyond professional.
Stay here and you won't be sorry!!!

We stayed here for six nights during our Honeymoon to the USA. What can we say.....Simply Perfect.
The hotel is located in the heart of Vail Village. It was a 3 minute walk to the covered bridge and 5 minutes to the first Chair Lift. The hotel is clean and has a very cosy and warm atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. We were on the first floor - Room 11 and had a view of the Mountain. I loved the fact that you could open the sliding window and allow the fresh Mountain air in. The gas fireplace is a lovely touch as is the complimentary high speed internet.
Our check in/out was seemless. The staff all seemed to want to please you in a genuine and non overbearing manner. Having worked in the hospitality industry for a large portion of our lives we never really like to single people out. As with all operations everyone has a critical role to play to ensure customer satisfaction, including those staff that you never see. However we feel the need to mention Jeremy at the front desk. His knowledge and demeanour were exceptional and he made our holiday spectacular. His advice saved us lots of confusion and he seemed genuinely interested in us having a great time. Thanks so much for going the extra yard Jeremy - It was greatly appreciated.
The restaurant in the hotel is of a very high stahdard and all the food is organic. The included continental breakfast is more than enough fuel for a day on the slopes. Although I must say that we did sway from the healthy organics and I weakened to some pancakes by midway through the trip.
We had a very nice Valentine's day dinner at the restaurant and the food and wait staff were without fault. The sommelier guided me through the US wines well and our choice complimented the food very well. Whilst as Aussies we are spoilt with wine choice i always like to taste the local varietals when travelling overseas, and not knowing any styles can sometimes be a bit daunting. However his advice was spot on and it put the icing on a perfect evening.
Simply put, Vail Mountain Lodge is a beautiful hotel offering exceptional service and hospitality. I don't know if it's the best in Vail, as we have nothing to compare it to and never will as we will always stay here everytime we visit and recommend it to all our friends and family, that way we'll never be disappointed with another establishment

We truly enjoyed our vacation. They had everything we wanted and I really appreciated the organic restaurant connected to the hotel. The service was top notch and they had great advice that we were thankful to receive. An all around great property. Cudos to the entire staff. We left with great memories of our stay.

I highly recommend Vail Mtn Lodge for many reasons. My husband had surgery in Vail and the staff could not have been more helpful. We have stayed in other hotels in Vail but this is our favorite. The beds are very comfortable, there is a great breakfast and a fabulous dinner at Terra Bistro (1st Flr) best swordfish ever, make a reservation!! It is only a one minute walk to Vail Village or the town bus (free)!! Can't wait to go back in the spring with the kids. Also, the athletic club is amazing with many classes to choose from!! Note - If flying into Vail/ Eagle don't rent a car you won't need it, take a cab or shuttle.
