The property, the services and the staff are outstanding. We travel the world and consider this the best of places to stay. The way Bob the owner, and his chocolate lab, Speedy, interact with the guests brings them close to a family relationship. You can't have a bad time there; they just will not allow that. Every time we viist, we make a reservation to return before we leave.

Room Tip: Mountain side is worth the extra charge. It is quiet and you get a view that will make you gasp eve...

Happy to add to the chorus of kudos for this property. Everything here is beautifully appointed and high quality. The service is attentive, genuine and really helpful, and you can't beat the ski valet and two minute walk to the lifts. Free wi if in rooms, Starbucks coffee in the lobby at 7 am (also free) and a very reasonable full breakfast buffet for 13.95 makes this place a winner in my book. I'll be back for sure!

We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here. We had a mountain view room with a king size bed and fireplace. It was so clean, spacious and well appointed. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel was very pretty throughout. The location is perfect. Within walking distance of the restaurants and nightspots and parking garage. Even within walking distance of the lifts. We will be back.

Family run and the folks are so nice, including Speed the house mascot dog, belonging to the owner. Extremely close to the mountain , in between Vail Village ( 5 min walk) and Golden Peak ( 3 min walk).
Only drawback no lunch or dinner. Buffet breakfast is very reasonable and bountiful in selection.
Staff is super nice. Cannot wait until next year..

Room Tip: The Mountain View rooms are the biggest. The Village view are smaller and less expensive. The rooms...

Very clean and updated rooms.
Extremely friendly staff.
Very home-like/comfortable feel.

I rarely write reviews but this place exceeded my expectation in every way. Realistically, for the convenience, price and experience, I cannot see myself staying anywhere else in Vail.

Overall I would give this property a higher rating if it weren't for the one or two negatives that I will mention a bit later. The hotel lobby is sumptuously appointed. You only need to walk about 200 feet to get to the new Gondola #1. The ski concierge brings your ski equipment out every morning and looks after locking it up at the end of the day. Your boots spend the night on a warm air boot dryer. The hotel building itself is solidly built and the rooms are quiet with not a peep to be heard through the walls. A couple of things that we think are worth mentioning. First, the beds (two queens) in our room were a bit on the spongy side. If they were my mattresses, they'd be at the curb-side. The ambient temperature in the corridors is kept at about 80, and the AC has to be on in the rooms although its below freezing outside unfortunately our AC was clearly tuckered out. Although the breakfast buffet is well worth the price for either the continental or the full hot breakfast, we noticed that there is no cooking exhaust hood over the omelette cooking station and that because of this, cooking odours are noticeable throughout the building in the mornings.

We stayed there in March 2013 and found the place to be gorgeous with its abundance of wood details in the architecture and finishes. The service was top notch and friendly. Valet service is available for $25 a day wich is a steal in Vail. The rooms were clean and well appointed with a fridge (not minibar) and microwave allowing one to heat up simple meals. The complimentary toiletries are from L'Occitane. The southern facing hot tubs were God sent after a hard day's skiing. A full breakfast looked luscious (I did not partake) and at $13 is also a great deal. The helpful ski valet stored our skis overnight for free. The icing on the cake? Free blazing fast WiFi throughout the property. The one negative was the male bartender whose attitude and pours left much to be desired.
Stay there if you want a high quality experience without the spa, the shopping arcade, the festooned doorman, or the 3 am room service.

Room Tip: Pick the non slope facing side to avoid the night time droning of the snowcats.
