We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo here for 4 nights recently. We had a one level condo on the 4th floor and although the decor was not exactly to our taste, the lounges were very comfortable, as was the bed, the furnishings were all clean and well-maintained, the bathrooms were great and the kitchen was well equipped. For the price we paid, we were very happy with our condo, it was spacious, comfortable and clean. The internet in the condo was fast. Good TV channels. We didn't really like the position of our condo though, it was in building 1, very close to the interstate. With the windows open, it did sound a bit like trucks were going through our lounge room! But it was a bit hot and stuffy in summer with the windows closed. There were ceiling fans which helped and there was no noise with the windows closed, so that was good at least. This was a bit disappointing as I specifically requested a quiet condo when I booked as I'm a light sleeper. We saw several other condos during our stay and didn't think they were as nice as ours, so I guess it's the luck of the draw. The pool and jacuzzi were very nice and the DVD library was fun. We did have one problem with our stay - after we checked in, we went and had lunch then came back and there was a very strong smell of smoke in our condo. There were also scorch marks around the smoke detector. We were a bit concerned and asked to be moved to another condo, but when we went to look at the other condo that was available, none of the nights in either bathroom worked. So obviously that wasn't an option. So we had to stay in the smoky condo and therefore we asked for the maintenance person to check the smoke detector to make sure everything was fine. Although we were assured he was on his way, he never showed up and no one ever came to check the smoke detector. So that was a bit disappointing and obviously a safety issue too. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Not sure how you would choose a good condo, maybe avoid building 1 (too noisy) or ask to see a few c...

My girlfriend and I stayed at Simba Run for a long weeked. The 2 bdrm condo was clean, modern and had great space. The staff were very helpful, the pool and jaccuzi were great and free movies all added to a wonderful weekend.

We would both highly recommend Simba Run and we will be back ourselves.

When we arrived I refused the room we were initially offered, it was terrible. We viewed another 2 condo's and chose the least offensive, they were all in need of renovation, some of our party had decent rooms, but it was pot luck. The condo we ended up with was acceptable, but extremely noisey due to it's proximity to the I-70 Highway, even at night time, it was like sleeping on the side of a busy road. Only half the lights in the condo worked, we were frozen on the first night as the heating had been turned off and it looked like it had been furninshed from a 2nd hand store.

On the plus side, it was cheap, location was ok for Vail with a decent bus service into the resort and it had a nice swimming pool.

I wouldnt stay there again.

Room Tip: Ensure your condo has double glazing .. ask for pictures of your allocated condo before you book.

since my last review I'd like to add an update.

this place has continued it's excellent standards of cleanliness and maintenance. there is nothing out of place.

the lobby freebies are wonderfull -- internet work station, Starbucks coffee, DVD rentals.

as I said before the staff is the most friendly in town. the new additions meet their high standards for congeniality and helpfullness -- especially the shuttle drivers.

We chose Simba Rub going by the reports on trip advisor and have to say it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in a 1 bedroom condo which was very spacious, the condo was a little dated as some other reviews say but everything worked and was very clean it just could have done with a bit better lighting. The wireless internet did work but it is very slow so don’t expect to stream any TV or films over it but for just checking emails and surfing the net its fine. Although the condos are fairly close to the interstate we could hardly here the cars unless you had the window open and the bedroom is at the back so you would not here it sleeping. The pool and Jacuzzi were very nice after a days skiing and the reception staff were very helpful. The room was cleared of rubbish and fresh towels replaced every day. The shuttle bus was excellent and very frequent taking you to and from the slopes, they would also drop you off in vail and there was also a timetable of when the bus would go to the grocery store. When we come back to Vail we will definitely be staying here again.

This was my first trip to Vail. Having skied in other resorts in CO I was shocked by the prices in Vail and looked everywhere for a better nightly rate. We decided to stay at the Simba Run in a two bedroom condo. Our unit was spacious, clean, and well maintained. The shuttle service to and from the mountain was timely and efficient. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would very likely stay again in Simba Run if visiting Vail and would recommend Simba Run to others, without a doubt.

Room Tip: Unit 2313 has two master bedrooms with king beds, perfect for couples traveling together.
