The resort is beautiful! Well situated with scenic grounds and vistas. We traveled there for a business conference and were happy to learn that our rooms were ready when we arrived, so we could relax after a long day of traveling.

The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Most were very knowledgeable of the area, sites to visit, places to eat, shuttle schedule etc.

The draw backs were that there was construction directly across the street making it very noisy during the day and the hotel restaurant was very pricey, not offering any kind of off season discount so we chose to eat elsewhere.

A real bonus and very handy was the free shuttle that takes you into Vail Village!

Overall it was a very pleasant stay!

Room Tip: As for a room facing the mountains!

The hotel is within walking distance of Lionshead Village, with shopping, restaurants, play areas, gondola and more. The bus which goes to the other resort villages stopped right in front of our lobby, making it very convenient to go anywhere. The bus ran from 6:30am to 1:00am at approximate 10 minutes intervals.

Our guest room was nice and clean with a generous sized bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. There was a nice mountain view. The room was somewhat smaller than expected, with no easy chair, balcony or sofa - but a table with a couple of chairs that doubled as a desk. Fine for our purposes - we spent very little time in the room.

The food in the restaurant was very expensive, even for breakfast. Sandwiches and salads in the pub were fairly reasonable and excellent.

Swimming couldn't be better. Both indoor and outdoor heated pools. Plus one indoor and two outdoor whirlpools - very nice! The outdoor ones had a lovely setting and mountain view. There was a nice patio area with a fire pit going in the crisp cool evenings. It was also a great place to sit and enjoy a coffee in the mornings. Beautiful plants surrounding it all.

Service was exceptional in every area. Every staff person we had occasion to meet were very friendly and helpful.

This property is very nice. We were welcomed on our arrival and the room had a nice view on the 5th floor. The food was good and the staff were excellent. It was a perfect stay! There are a lot of restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: make sure you stay on the 3rd floor or above

I have stayed at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort annually for the past 8 years. I can say with some degree of authority then that this is a great place to stay when in Vail. Now, everyone must consider that in the winter the prices all over Vail are high given the ski resort, but the Marriott is competitive with the high end properties that typify Vail. All of the staff here are tremendously helpful and friendly, especially the concierge. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant is extensive and worth the price. Outstanding conference facilities. As far as convenience is concered, they are hard to beat. The village shuttle bus, which goes all over the resort side of Vail Mountain, has a stop literally at the front door of the Marriott; they have a ski rental shop in-house; a ski valet which will store your skis and put your boots in a dryer overnight; they are about a 100 yard walk from the Lionshead gondola and base area with many good restaurants within short walking distance; there is a hiking/walking trail along Gore Creek just out the back door of the hotel; and they have a well-stocked convenience store attached to the ski shop. I gave the Marriott four stars instead of five because their on-site spa needs some updating as well as some refurbishing of their hot tub area. The rooms are varied - from basic hotel rooms to very large condo-like Timberline suites. They are decorated tastefully and the beds are comfortable. There are nice views from many of the windows. All in all you cannot go wrong staying at the Marriott Mountain Resort. I already have plans to return this coming winter.

Room Tip: Junior Timberline suites will give you a reasonable-sized sitting/living area and a bedroom along wi...

We stayed four nights late spring 2014. Our room was on the 6th floor. We had a Jr. Timberline Suite. Having a separate bedroom from the living room worked for our families needs. Our 5 year old slept on the sofa sleeper and our toddler was able to sleep in a pack and play in the hallway by the main door. It was quiet and gave everyone a private space to sleep. We really enjoyed the room having 2 bathrooms. Having children it can be hard getting everyone ready in one bathroom and this helped expedite us getting out for the evening. The room also had a fire place which we did not use due to the warmer temps. Our housekeeping crew was fantastic. These women were friendly and went above and beyond our expectations! The room was always clean. The hotel is very close to Lionshead Village and the gondola to the top of the mountain. Vail Village is about a 10 minute walk. We enjoyed hiking every day, playing the incredible playgrounds, going to the top of the mountain, and swimming in the pool. This is a fantastic place for families! We also ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant every day. It was apart of our room package. We wouldn't have paid for it otherwise because it is a bit pricey. The buffet does offer a great variety of food. It is a step up from your typical hotel breakfast. The bar drinks were a bit expensive but they did offer happy hour from 3-6 pm. This is a great place to go in the summer! We loved it!

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor to get a better view. Make sure to have a balcony as well.

This hotel has some of the nicest people working there. We were impressed with the bellmen, the front desk, and the housekeeping staff. All were helpful and friendly.
The resort is in a beautiful location in Vail. In the heart of the village and close to the shuttle buses. The room was lovely with a refrig and coffee maker. They only give you one tea bag so bring your own if you drink tea. The bathroom was nice, but the tub/shower is small a slippery when wet. A "grip" mat would be a good addition. The bed was comfortable with nice linens and an extra blanket for when the night got cool. The small balcony was a great place to relax except for the noise from the rooftop HVAC units noisily working 24/7.
The only problem is the "extra" charges. They charge for internet, and parking on site. Other hotels in the area include these amenities in the room rate. We stayed here because an event was happening at this location. If we wanted to stay in Vail next time we would probably choose a hotel that has the included amenities at the same price.

Room Tip: The resort fee is optional at check-in so ask about it.

Staff was nice, room was clean, and hotel is centrally located. The av crew for our conference had hiccups on the second day of speakers and messed up what would have been a great presentation. Separately, my favorite breakfast on earth is the corn flake French toast only seen at Marriott, but it was awful here. Terribly dry, not to Marriott standards. The lunch served at the conference was lackluster as well. Bottom line: good room and location, not so good food.
